Pay your quarters
pay your dimes
you're paying for laundromat time
slowly spinning
forgotten
by
Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

Minutes become hours
and
there are still too many hours to go.

Any math class
intense gas
organized religion
waiting for the tow truck,
the bus
in
the pouring frozen rain.

Sitting in the E.R.
with a cut finger
waiting waiting waiting.

Sitting in the hospital room
with an elderly distant relative
you hardly know,
their funeral too.

At the grandparents house
with endless repeats of Judge Judy
on the t.v.
t.v. droning monotoning on and on and on.

Any work day
perpetually two thirty or three,
in meetings with presentations
with more presentations to go,
you're trying to be productive,
but all you know
is
laundromat time
slowly spinning.

Any night of insomnia,
betrayals endless loops,
anxiety rolling through,
following you from one cigarette to another
three o'clock
four o'clock
four-twenty.

Home movies of endless barbeques
I know meaningful to you.

Pictures of people's
cats and dogs
a hundred more to go.

Eight and a half months pregnant,
kiddie soccer on a Sunday morning at 7:30,
the middle school brass band
Friday night at nine,
yes, that's me
passed out and snoring,
laundromat time
a warm blanket
has
put me under.

Anybody else's endless fascinations
say
pictures of weather,
laundromat time sets in
as the
eye lids flutter
narcolepsy sets in with all of this clutter.

So the next time
you're standing in line
and the woman in front is telling
the clerk
every detail you never wanted to know
you'll think about these poor lines
and remember
you're spinning in laundromat time
forgotten by Einstein.

In fact these poor lines
must be feeling that way too
I am going to do you a favor
and
get back to you later.
A laundromat in the USA is where you go to do laundry if you don't have a washer/dryer at home. Time slows down, it's a known fact.
"Each day is a gift and not a given right."

Stop taking what you have for granted
Appreciate the little things
Everything means something
Everyone wants to feel they're wanted

"Leave no stone unturned"

Try everything once, maybe twice
Look everywhere for opportunities
Never ignore what you truly believe
Remember, this is YOUR life

"Leave your fears behind"

What's the point in being scared
There's always a possibility for pain
Without some breakage, there's no gain
But never jump in blind or unprepared

"Try to take the path less traveled."

Never follow the worn rut in the ground
Make a new, curved path
Leave the past in the past
There's still something amazing left to be found

"If Today Was Your Last Day"**

Would you be ashamed of the steps you've followed?
Would you regret some things from the past?
Would you do anything to take those things back?
Don't, just rejoice, smile. There's no time in life to wallow.

I am in  a loop of sorrow
Always hearing
Repeatedly,
Afresh,
Repetitive
The words tie a noose
Strangling all thoughts.
"I am stuck in a cycle"
Of never letting go,
The emotions Switching between
Love,
Hate,
Regretting
That moment we said words not
Meant out of love, but anger,
You left tears like raindrop,
And then you were gone,
"I never told you"
"I would forever say"
"When Doors closed behind you"
"I LOVE YOU"
But in anger I said
"Be gone"
"Never come back"
Fate Is a cruel mistress,
"She heard these words"
And took you before I said I love you,
"One last moment"
"One last time"
But know now each
Day the sun rises,
"I love you"
Night eclipses the day,
"I love you"
When ever I shut the door behind me
"I love you"
But no matter how many times I repeat it
Your not here too hear my words,
I visit you, watch over you
"Eternally in slumber"
I love you and wish I said it that **day.
If ever in anger they shut the door always say you love them, fate is cruel that way

A dream,
a daydream within a fever:

I see,
a long road-
beside,
several narrow roads-
seen or unseen
known or unknown

high fever
my body burning
looping within hallucination

your's-
uneven low voice
some broken words
playing jigsaw with me

yet everything your's
me and my fever too

It was on a quest we left Tupelo one night
about ten after midnight and made the coast of South Carolina
and her salty air at four carrying our backpacks loaded with Jack Daniels

We  shoveled with worried brows we were followed. We had honey hope and innocence and our quest would not be denied. We dug four million holes just in Alabama, no telling how many , as we slept many times in strange foreign lands and read of the locals and ate their bread with gladness.
Walked and swam in currents that pulled and tormented, as we continued following our heart and torment and a little harder we got and stronger in this deed until we discovered Atlantis.
A small way, or half between Spain and France and Alabama, we found her. Buried by Shakespeare and covered with the ***** words of humanity, we dug up and exposed, our muse. She was death , and bones and honored her. We spoke of her beauty, not once but now.
For she symbolized destiny and how nothing really matters.

I walked in to the room
A line upon the wall, "crayon"
Red,
Blue,
Black.
I was ascending, descending,
Thicker as it widened as its journey
Eclipsing the room. What wasn't upon the wall
Outside was now
Now saturated with lines,
But a difference as where there was
Blue,
Black,
Red
With fingerprints. What was dry now wet,
I watched it continue, like a moment
Carrying me along.
"My god the thickness"
"As my finger continued"
"New lines were drew"
"I needed more red"
"As words were wrote"
Crayons were
Red,
Blue,
&
Black,
"The line started"
"But it ends in red"
"In  Crimson"
"I dip my *******"
"In to your neck"
Look what happens when I needed the colours,
"You called me crazy"
But know look as I draw on the walls
Now you don't moan at the words wrote in blood
But they ran out so I used you instead.
I just wanted2draw upon the walls...

(for the love of Yocum...who may shoot me yet, someday...)

most like 'em
simple, short,
bite size sweets,
easy to please,
a mouthful of amusement,
even if taxing,
tax me only briefly

a small remarque,
a tiny tingling digestif,
easily consumable,
easily forgot,
a couple of lines,
one ooh, one aah,
minimum is the maximum

never been that way,
**** hard to write
what ya ain't,
so keep on scribbling
a pack of stray dog thoughts,
long, loud, and sometimes
subtly & dangerously straightforward

~~~~~~~
(feel free to stop here)
~~~~~~~~

easy are the chocolates of
loves disputations
pained morsels of remorse,
lovely to be found,
even lovelier when  lost

cream fillings of twinges of regrets,
violence wrecks the heart,
what might have been, or once was,
subjects that guarantee the
affection of the great unaffected

writ my fair share,
stage three, t'is methinks,
of the ten step process
getting more n' more
writing-addicted,

don't begrudge
the overly simplistic,
still I am, hard aside,
rough adjudging,
tiresome trite are the
dust mites of poetry

as for my own mixture of
mostly mutt and purebred
stray dog thoughts,
ones that chase
solitary strangers down
late night streets,
see you hiding from the lamplight
in the in-between shadows,
when we tender invites to
all loonies & loneliest,
join up!
with this ragtag pack of
estranged poetry dogs

maybe they don't tickle your fancy,
our words, abstruse and direct,
dictionary lookup dignified,
observations of a man
looking outward,
after looking caustically inward,
every thirty seconds

the tint of his glass enclosure,
modulating the tenor and timbre,
of his singing voice,
the changing light complecting
his visage, his visions,
his hell-howling versions of
packets of stray dog thoughts

the individual words,
constituent members of
roaming, stray dog thoughts,
sometime silent,
usually growling,
once in awhile,
roughhouse barking

but what I got is
what I get,
what I give,
scraps to eat,
raps of notional emotional
stray dog thoughts

so if ya hear those footfalls,
words that just can't be refused,
run for places where the crazies
can't get in, the packets locked out,
unlessing you wanting
to howl along side,
an appreciative audience
who can't get enough of,
consuming whole candy boxes,
in one sitting of
words that keep coming,
I will howl mine
own stray dog thoughts**

you can always shoot that **** howling dog
you like 'em short and sweet
someday when I run out of notions and emotions,
and a love for words,
I will write fewer...

I will not bastardize myself on the altar of popularity, fk that *****...

Delilah!

And a shave,
     because I am overgrown
with hair and testosterone,
clip me where I may deflate
in ego and ride me with estrogen
    until I say Aunt,
cause my Uncle is gone
        I remembered.
He ran away, never to be seen again
for my Aunt was a *****.

Uncross your arms. So I
May access your heart.

Smile, so our kisses fit.
I fell in love with you laughing,

Now look for things to laugh
About; there are plenty.

Save your tears for the hard, solid
Tragedies. I'll cry with you. Then.

I earn your trust just by
Breathing; so honest is my

Loving you. Uncross your arms.
Return my embrace.

(Reach Out!)

Carols and cold winter whispers
Fill the snowy atmosphere
Curtain sparkles,
trees and lanterns
Bring light in these times of short nights,
Short tempers, when expected moments are nigh
And away, they suddenly fly...
Think "warm," think thousands of fireflies
Let us have a much needed rest
From WARS, DEATH, pain, bitterness, sadness
For now, forget anger, revenge, despair, hatred, sorrow
Think away from us, far from ourselves, let our minds roam
Let our minds gravitate towards the children of the world
Their innocent smiles, lost in this cruel, mad, world...
A heart broken, is a pale comparison to those children's sufferings...
Why not let our laughter and our giggles,
With good wishes and hopeful thoughts, mingle...
Let these positive vibes fill the world, saturate the air
Let us ponder, write of happy moments, with flair...

Beam with a SMILE,
Be contagious,
Reach out,
Make the world SMILE!

We are all connected deep inside
We are seated side by side,
Everyday, we join a trip
In this vessel called
F R I E N D---S H I P.

LET US LIVE, REVIVE, AND SPREAD THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT AND HOLIDAY CHEERS.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY PEACEFUL NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!!!

LOVE TO ALL-

Sally
