Eudora
My back parallel to the ground
as my nerves and vessels in my head swell.
Puffed eyelids shut gently,
my fingers shiver.
Heavy heart beats with a stagnant beat,
tears flushing down like a waterfall..
forming puddles on my collar bone
before drowning me into a pool
of melancholy and despair.

**Wondering what's in store for me tomorrow,
only if it comes..

Ive written too many words
To ask you to stay.
Too many letters that beg;
That spell out desperation.
So go ahead,

*Leave.

Loud like the taste of a memory
Thick and cold with the hint of a reverie
Sinking your teeth into the extremities
Of all, that is left of me

Constant noise that is loud and clear
A sound which I have come to fear
The clatter and bang of all I held dear
The end is coming
It's forever near

The last time we kissed
I broke out in hives
from the honey on her breath
and the sting of her lies.
I swear, I'd die a thousand deaths
if she were the queen of my hive.

Not sure how it landed here,
I found it in my lot
and bending down to pick it up
amused at what I'd got

I looked a little closer
since I had a little time
It's a good thing that  I bothered
for the thing inspired this rhyme.

Though you can't tell from poetry
if the writer knows your name
I could see by four lines in
the gender and it's aim.

The poem, it was well written
on a scrap and by his hand
just two lines in, I'm smitten
although four is my demand.

and this one was a couplet
seems he'd written it for fun
just four lines to tell his girl
she's got his heart undone.

as giddy as my thoughts can be
this struck me sad, my dear,
since poems that mean to say as much
are often less than clear.

The first two lines he scribbled down
were warming at the start
" I'd love to drive you home tonight
and fire up your heart."

The second two I do believe
had crumpled note in part,
"If I could have that honor, dear
I'll need some gas to cart."

I understood his poetry
weird rhymes can flow with ease
apparently his bottom line
was not a point to please.

Or maybe he had never passed
that note, and thrown it down
perhaps the wind had taken it
and blown it through the town

and just perhaps it ended up
this couplet, just for me
to understand how words can halt
or fuel my love for thee.
I look out onto this life I have designed
This concrete house with ivy enveloping the walls
I look at these faces, these many features that blur
I remember each one, every smile and chipped tooth
I look at my walls, where pictures used to hang
There are now sticky tac marks and ripped wallpaper
I look at myself, hidden amongst books and art
I have everything I need right here, right now

I find myself completely alone
Unburdens the dusky river

dreams of flow dead in the bog of hyacinth
harvest burnt in the scorch of aridity
ripples robbed by the silt of dogma
sunbeam denied by the **** of creed

I was meant to reach the sea,
now I would never make it.

I pick the river's shattered pieces
with my own from the wintry dusk.

~~¤~~

I have seen these dark clouds before
Thick blankets that cover your sky
Oh world, you've been missing the light
Those clouds were powerful enough to cover the sun
And their power is increasing as time goes by
That they have reached even the corner of man's mind

They just didn't create the rain but storms
Storms that attack even the small veins of one's fist
They made hearts of stone
And minds as black as night

Tell me, oh world
How much love we need to fold these thick blankets that cover us?

We are waiting for the sun to shine upon our souls,
for the love to melt the hearts of stone,
for the minds to welcome the day

Paint thy sky with love
A shimmering rainbow
That will melt the dark sky over us.
