Close your mouth
open your mind
Take a step back
can you see them now?
Can you hear their cries?
Or feel the scorching pain
That's twisted behind their
Bloodshot eyes?

Theyre locked away
inside themselves
while their small bodies
Fight something cruel
we cannot see.
A real-life nightmare
of which devours
their once lively dreams.

AllAtOnce
I write poetry
All the time
Because I know if I didn't
I would explode
Because my heart screams too loud
I would go deaf
Because words are my safety
I rely on them
Because they are there through the worst
Now-
Which notebook did I put that in?

Epic Monkey
Innocent child
Spark denied
Hardly strived a final strife
Justice died
Mother cried
As hazard tried to save his live

Innocence-spilling massacre
Infant weeping
Held by his dying mother
Suddenly sleeping
Desperately leaving
This world to another

A masterpiece of insanity
A disgrace to humanity

Manipulated politicians
Manipulating ignorants
Discriminating religions
Yet same God is worshiped
Same peaceful visions
Yet all drown in hate
and proudly claim
to be believers
Yet **** in His name
like proud imbeciles
for inhuman leaders

Go read your holy books
Absorb the essence of charity
Accept we're all the same
Refuse the tyranny
Color your brainwashed minds
with stains of compassion
Break the political system
Overshadowing your freedom

Don't let their shams
Carve your misery
Unveil Insanity
Unchain Humanity

~Epic Monkey
For the inhuman insanities happening in many areas in the Middle East especially Ghaza and Moosel. As humans, we can't remain neutral to what is happening!

Shaded Lamp
His squidgy wet nose prods my cheek

Ending another night’s sleep on the sofa

Our eyes meet

His happy, optimistic

Mine red, realistic, sad nearly sober

I stroke his silky chocolate brown head

An expression of expectation

Raised tan eye brows

Head cocked to one side

Long ears flopping

Happy mouth agape

Pink tongue lolling, panting

His mood is infectious

He spins to catch his elusive tail

Then checks for signs of my approval

He asks for nothing but love

I cast off my petty worries

Because for now...

I'll live in the here and now

A lesson instructed to me everyday

By my faithful canine companion

Before we face the world together
WARNING!!
Parts 2 and 3 may get political and therefor be offensive to some.
But on the upside... they may rhyme!
I had better get some more research done.

Shaded Lamp
The Sun fell down on us that morning

Feeding every living being with its radiant caress

My dog, his tail wagging

Like a metronome set to a Milonga beat

From the open windows of the neighbourhood

The scent of coffee and cinnamon

And idle conversation

The occasional baby cry and little dog yapping

A perfect Swedish Sunday morning for some

But I

I had nothing but death on my mind

The morning grew hot

Too hot for a dog and his mad English man

Back to the double glazed cave

I had something unpleasant to attend to
Part 3 cometh as soon as grow some ***** or I know how to write it

Shaded Lamp
As excited to return as he was to leave

Bright eyes such bright eyes

He senses my pain

We enter...

....

He skips to his drink

Downs it in one

Plods off to corner

Flops down in the cool shade

Raising a quizzical eyebrow

Then doses off with a contented sigh

....

Click, click of the mouse

The key to the asylum gate turns

The inmates scream out beyond my screen

Some live in heaven others in hell

Perversely I sit here

Omnipresent

My fingers jabbing at the keyboard

Harvesting the daily cruelties of mankind

Kind of "men"

I'm sick

At least sickened

I SEE WAR

LOTS OF HIDEOUS WAR

TWISTED CORPSES

INSANITY

GRIEF

I see twisted politicians pretending to care

Banks rubbing their hands with glee

Arms manufacturers celebrating bonuses

I see death equals money for some

Lots of death = Lots of money

Kids shelled on a beach, hospitals destroyed

"well they use human shields"

So that must mean those humans are worthless?

I see a death toll of 1400...and RISING!

I see no God

I see genocide

Clicking and typing just makes it worse

Calling each other "dogs" a repeated curse

Dogs!

Dehumanizing the enemy

For the purpose of easy slaughter.

The devoted mother and father

The innocent son and daughter

Where is this God?

Either/ any version will do

Or is it all about NOTHING!

Nothing but ******* and greed.

Click, click...

When will humanity wake up
I hate war, the people that create it, the fools that perpetuate it and myself for being so impudent on the subject, but for all the good religion has brought the world ...it just needs to go! Yes, I am holding back.
You sit at your screen
fingertips flying in the face of decency
like a spigot attached to a vat of arsenic
dripping your poison, slowly, surely into the ears of the unthinking.

You justify the burnt skin, the orphans, the unending torture as deserved.

Deserved?

How can it be so?

Go tell the orphan, scarred and screaming that her fate was deserved.

Go stand beside mass graves and thumb your nose at the deserving corpses, stained by the blood of ages.

Where is your heart?
does it choke and sputter,
buried beneath your all encompassing loathing?

You call me stupid, maybe so,
my views naive, my compassion wasted
yet my heart beats proudly, swells with love
while my tired eyes drown at the unfolding horror.

War is not a spectator sport,
it is not justifiable, nor deserved.

Call me stupid if you will, ridiculous if you must
call me any number of names in your attack on my spirit
I will not care, I will not bend or bow.
Your hatred will be your undoing.
Not mine
Got into an argument with a 'friend' because he couldnt understand why I won't accept his islamphobic views as my own, I would rather be tainted as stupid than as a bigot.

Every night
it is so silent where I lay
that I can hear my heartbeat thump thump thump
in my head
outside a night jar coos
and in the distance I hear an owl call to someone unknown

Every night
my brothers and sisters cower in fear
the only lullaby are the sounds of the bombs that whistle overhead
I can hear their heartbeats thump thump thump
never knowing when one will fall on their heads.
The people of Gaza have defined what courage is.

There is this place
It’s called Palestine
It used to be pretty
And peaceful and lively
The people lived as they do
Everywhere else.

Then there came to be this place
It’s called Israel
Which is basically Palestine
But mercilessly occupied
It attacked Palestine
And took over most of its land.

So now in Palestine
Or what’s left of it
Where there used to be quaint houses
There’s just a lot of rubble
With broken and burnt doors, utensils and limbs
Jutting out from underneath.

Where there used to be bright smiles
That could light up the world
There now are tears,
burn marks and bloodied cuts
That can rend any human heart
Except those that are not human.

It is a war, not between states
Not between races, nor between fates
Nay, this is a bigger war, one of faith
At least, that is how it started
But now, it is between
human and non-human.

Tell me, please
Is it human to **** innocent people
For the sake of self, and the sake of  hate?
Is it human then also, to remain quiet
And watch such tyranny be?
It must also be human, to  point guns at 4 year olds.

And by this definition,
Humans of this world, humans that feel
Are not humans at all, because they care
And those that don’t, well
They’re humans at their prime
The most evolved of them all.

Israel, I salute you, a salute full of mock
At your utter humanity, and benevolence
Your bombs when they land
With the cheers of your people,
And your guns when they point
At 4-year old terrorists; surely they can ****.

Palestine, I stand with you, sincerely
Your children, your people, your land and your peace
Are my children, my people, my land and my peace
Their bombs when they land, make my prayers fiercer
Their guns when they shoot, make my eyes water
But know this, Palestinians, we are one.

So when they shoot you, I bleed
And when they bomb you, I ache
When they hurt you, I feel the pain
And when you cry for help, I pray
We are blood, we are one body
We are the Ummah, we will rise.

Until then we pray, we pray and we try
Dear Palestine, stay strong, stay firm…
Help shall come, in ways unimaginable
Do not weaken, and do not grieve
You will overcome them, if you are true believers

Allah has promised, and His promise he upholds.

Cant you hear their cries
Of pain. Of suffering.
The echoes of malicious crimes.
Or have we become unaffected by the images
As history repeats itself one more time

Some where down the line
Humanity has been lost
As ignorance prevails, and their conscious dies
Who is left to preserve and protect innocent lives

As we sit watching the events unfolding
And the tears of both young and old
Like the missiles, do they fall

Have the oppressors forgotten, it was these people
who gave them shelter when they were the oppressed
United we were then to end the brutality and maltreatment
Now the tables have turned
We ignorantly refuse to believe it is happening again

For the innocents the fight continues
Their faith and their strength. It never falters
As they take back what is theirs.
Hoping that someone helps and intervenes
Giving back what's theirs, bringing them peace

The fear and dread
The weeping souls
The blessed land
Forgotten and torn

They fight the battle
as we look on
The hourly struggle
of the abandoned ones.

This is for those people suffering in Palestine, Gaza, Burma, Syria and anywhere else where innocent lives are being brutally taken by the evils of oppressors and ignorants.

I'm still stuck in day-drunk unemployment.
A millennial with eyes to a screen,
adopting a science
in a bedroom whisper for Gaza.

Now a writer of pretty words and clumsy verse,
there's no place for happiness
in forcing poetry. There are ribbons and bows
around the fenced-off trees,

there are notebooks of unfinished thought.
I'm searching the skies for a scrap of movement,
for some coded message
to **** the engine of war.

There's a wedding in the morning,
and there is somebody who still believes in love.
Rainbow confetti will kick in the sky,
a dandelion is born in the skull of old Palestine.

I'm still stuck in this new-age desperation,
a constant plea for peaceful completion.
I'm changing address
for a clean way of living,

in your sweet floral dress,
let this be the beginning.
