There's a dead silence
surrounding me
& I see the babes hanging,
all of them girls,
they lie on surfboards,
trapped for an eternity
& under the mist of a cool jade,
I spot my ruination day,
the winged serpent
with her eyes made of pearls.

I|

I am a man. I was put on
Earth to bleed from my hands.
Work is my virtue. I only sleep well
If I'm exhausted.
Your food and shelter is my gain.
My sweat is the salt on our table.

II|

I *am
a man, but also child
with a paper-mache heart and
sandcastle dreams, a child wishing
for later tides while we play
splashing in and out of the waves
but the tide always comes,
and castles crumble, and we
we tell ourselves that there's no need for fear
because we will build stronger walls
tomorrow

III|

Today is our day though
Let us work at love.
Let us play with love.
Let us dance until our feet
Blister and we collapse
Laughing into each other's arms in equal fatigue.
All I want is you.
All I have is you.
All I've never lost is love.
It is our costliest toy;
Unbroken

IV|

Unbroken it may be for now
yet the time will come, as with all good things
where life and love will come to its bitter end
our lives will have ran their course
and in that moment, we will know and be known
we will laugh our last laugh
we will drink and be merry
knowing we loved and were loved
and as the water comes washing in
we still stand behind walls of sand
and we will face the tide together

*unafraid
I wrote the stanza for Work, DA wrote Play, I wrote Love, and DA wrote Die.  Enjoy.

He has no choice but to chase her.
This hurricane of a girl,
who carries a roiling storm of turbulent winds behind her glances,
and breathes deeply of natural disaster.
Men will fall for forces of chaos.
Then pursue them despite emotional harm.
All he desires is her and that has made him blind.
He loves how the rain scents her skin.
She smells like dark mahogany and loam.
He loves her rounded gestures.
The way they angle in swooshing arcs,
cutting and emphasizing dialogue.
He wants to kiss her, hold her, be with her, talk to her.
But her crooked, crescent mouth sings only of destruction and implosion.
There’s no time for love or affection.
Her body is an empty vessel for primal lusts.
As slurred, blurred words are panted against her ear.
That’s how long she can stop.
That’s how long she can stay.
She’s caught in the swirl of her turmoil.
And like a hurricane she tears through place and setting.
Always in search of better things.
She has no time to puzzle out love.

Goodbye! Goodbye!
and so I bid,
Silent Farewells; as tears I hid,
behind myself; accede to die.

As you lie unconscious,
In all your might you sleep.
I sit beside you two, ruminating deep:
"My life without you; how monotonous."

Then gather the bits that remained intact,
to press my lips against your cheeks.
Without you knowing all of these,
I will forever bury this poignant fact.

Now I leave to do the things,
I need to do as I turn my back...
on you my
dear brothers,
one thing I promise.

i will be back.

This is a poem I wrote as I was on the way back to Manila for school purposes...  Above everything else, I will miss my two boys that I left behind and so I dedicate this poem to them.

The long shadow of seekers
drenched of mid-day suns
broken scattered
on this land of despair;

Walking nimble
on desiccated human skulls:

A father will not
return from work tonight.
Policeman, armyman, does it
matter, innocent everyman?
A child will be
orphaned and blighted tonight.

Eagles soar in the distance
obscured by fire and smoke
billowing from the assault
on our dreams and hopes.

Paradise -
dreamed of fanatical creeds;
Beyond which
is the graveyard of Gods.
Armed with hatred for the heathen and heretic, in peace do I come, truly, for my hatred is better than yours.

It is dark and I am at peace
Slithering into the whites of my eyes
The blackness sheets and covers my body
rippling its white hot way down my spine
somehow finding its way into my little black toenails
it drenches me with a sweat that gives me a sweet tingly sensation
down passed my bones;
soon the darkness will consume me.

Lost Soul
while YOU'RE looking into the stars
I'm admiring your PERFECTION
IN the dark you're my light
MY eyes adjust to you
cause beauty is in the EYES of the beholder

I love to sit
'Neath the twilight sky
Feasting
On the color of darkness
Filling myself
With emptiness

children gaze
and light tenderly refracts to the image

children smile
and time relinquishes its dimension

children speak
and air becomes oxygen enriched

children laugh
and matter matters not

children paint
and elements fuse

children dance
and life flows

LMT
Threads of muscle fibers,
Over time,
Became twisted into thick ropes
That anchored you to the column of ivory tusks
Which lay the foundation for your slumped demeanor.

Your forward shoulders
Drew your sinking heart ever deeper
Into the hyperkyphotic cave where it may slumber.

Upon your flesh, my palm may rest
A heated plate
To melt those ties of tendon to bone
And set your cardio free from your rib cage

Lifted and soaring
You see me weekly
But when you smile
I wonder
Who this is really for
I love that I love what I do

I didn't want to believe in any kind future with you,
Too afraid the dream would be ripped away,
But I love it when you say 'forever' far too much;
Please, don't lead me astray.

In the garden of Humanity
Plant more bonhomie
Love will blossom
The landscape will change
Fragrance and love all around
Colors will blend, celebrating all
The celestial space will rejoice
As happiness knows no bounds

We floated on
a sea of clouds
hovering over
checkerboard
greens & browns
& spots of blue.

I watched
dots
traveling
to and fro
on endless ribbons,
people
living out
their lives
in steel.

And I wondered
if they only knew
we were
way up here
above the clouds
in the jetstream,
would they wave?
