the glass is half empty
my mind is too full
negativity is all that tempts me
with its downward pull

with broken feathers
i fall from the sky
when it's always cloudy weather
hope is sure to die

once i was lost
broken and dying
now i can be found
fearlessly flying

I'm a saint of the vapor
that's my God-given nature
I'm only here for a season
with my heart, pen, and paper
GaryL did the first two stanzas and I did the second two stanzas. Many thanks to GaryL!

I envy the stars,
For they can go
Billions of years
Before forgetting how to shine
And I could barely go ten.
I was that age when,
The lights behind my eyes
And the lights all around me
Seemed to go dim,
Never again to mirror the sun.

Mali pala ang nasa isip
Ito pala'y isang panaginip
Buhat mula sa maling akala
Na sakin ika'y tinadhana

My thoughts were not what they seemed
Turns out all this was just a dream
Brought upon by false convictions
That for us a red string was drawn

Ginising mo ako sa katotohanan
Na lahat ng bagay ay may hangganan
Pero kailanman ay hindi ako nagsisisi
Dahil totoo ang ating pagmamahal kahit sandali

You opened my eyes to reality
That things can't last for eternity
I have no regrets what so ever
Because we had a short but real happy ever after

Hindi ko lubos na pinahahalagahan
Ang walang hanggan
Dahil ang importante ay
Ang pagmamahal na buo at tunay

For me, the existence of forever
Doesn't really matter
What's important is
The realness of love amidst the adversities

Wala akong galit na ipadarama
O ganti na sana ikaw ay magdusa
Walang hinanakit na dinadaing
Kundi salamat sa pagmamahal habang ika'y nasa aking piling

For you, I have no rage to release
No vengeance to accomplish
No sorrow to let go
*But  for the love while you were mine, I only have gratitude to bestow
*~So I made this poem using my native language (Tagalog) and the italicized text is the english translation. I just realized that it has been a while since I last wrote a poem in tagalog.

Love comes with a price,
not everything is free.
You toss the dice,
but not without a fee.
One must give,
the other must take.
One may live,
the other may break.
The dice represents chance. When someone "rolls the dice" in a relationship with somebody else, they're taking a big chance.

Cheers to sharing bottles of wine,
fifths of whiskey, and beers by the stein
To plugging yourself into that amplifier
and playing your song with the volume higher
Others join, you're a band pumping great sound
we'll have what we're having, 'nother round!

Honest fellowship is here
Spirits rise with bubbles in the beer
Cares are gone as soon as you begin
to feel the warmth start from within

I'm not evil to the core just most of the way,
There is a softness, a kindness there a heart you could say.
I know it's not much, but I know it's there,
It's small but it's warm and it makes me care.
And I know all this softness actually comes from my head,
But my heart still beats to let me know I'm not dead.
All the words that I utter,
And all the words that I write,
Must spread out their wings untiring,
And never rest in their flight,
Till they come where your sad, sad heart is,
And sing to you in the night,
Beyond where the waters are moving,
  Storm-darken'd or starry bright.
Sometimes it takes our desperation in something.
To finally see change from Christ our Savior.
Desperation, being broken, and a broken heart.
Are three things that God can and will work with.
To reveal himself to those that are hurting .
Another one is when you hit rock bottom here.
Because then you realize that this world is not about you.
Christ will take your life turn you around and do mighty things.
Once you become humble and start knowing that he is God.

Should-haves* are dangerous words in my ears –
They’ll side with the season’s expectations
Weaving thoughts in absent dreams where my fears
Take shape, conquering pulses’ vibrations.
Might is not a word that speaks reliance
Paired with fits of unrequited musings.
Alas it’s through my stubborn defiance
That I predict the eventual choosing
By an uninformed heart of another.
Greater signs I should read for me to see
This storybook ending in love – rather
Your indifference speaks harsh truths, agreed.
But sharp pangs still dumbfound me, ripping tears
In a heart that should have loved, did not dare.
