I can never be that girl you adore
The same girl you would do anything for
Someone you've admired long before me
And someone that fits your own reality

I'm just a boy who wants to have you
But dreams like these never come true
I can never be more of a woman than her
She'll always be the one you'd prefer

Fate is so fickle and yet so so sweet
I'm glad fate decided you and I would meet
But if I had the choice to choose my path
I would forget you instead of facing love's wrath

She is your dream and your desire
And you are something I can only wish to acquire
I've accepted you and I cannot be together
Because I know in my heart I can never be her

To be the sun and kiss your skin
To be the rain and dance round you
To be the moon and watch you dream

I long to be most anything

To be the breeze you pray will come
To be the cloud you gaze in awe

In lieu of the star in the sky
Far too dim to catch your eye

I don't understand
why we measure time

Time does not pass in a uniform action
Minutes can seem like seconds
and seconds like minutes

The amount of time we spent together seemed endless
but the amount of time it has been
since the last time we talked
seems infinite

The amount of time is not equal
to the amount of meaning
that something has

so if there is no meaning in time
why don't we measure meaning instead?

I don't understand why we measure time

Autumn leaves profess their love
As they cascade to the ground

Redwood stands in silent attention
To feel your breeze caress it's bark

tiny dancers
came swirling by
in the form of leaves
falling from the sky
and as I watched them
twist and turn
falling down
so light and free
I couldn't help but feel
they were performing
just for me.

tiny dancers
garbed in autumn's array
of gold and oranges and reds
on this windy day--
and all I could think
as they kept coming down
was that I wanted to join in
to dance around
and feel as beautiful,
light and free
as all these tiny dancers
surrounding me...
So many leaves cascading down and it made me think of little fairies dancing for joy on this windy autumn day...

the wind picks up the
leaves and they dance in little
spirals and when it slows they
fall like the end of a
puppet show
