It'll be alright
It'll be okay
Little white lies I tell every single day

Well, that is if you believe what Doug has to say
I believe they’re true
It’s not a platitude
It's an attitude
If you want to be a schmuck, that's up to you
But me… I ain't got time to feel blue

One last poem
One last cigarette
One last beer then I’m off to bed

Wait, wait!
Just one more thing to get off my head

Will the people I get ****** with
Put stones on my grave
When the masses decide to stone me
Will they laugh or turn away
When there’s roaches in the kitchen
And not in the ash try
Will they look for someone better
Or will they stick with me till it’s okay

Everyday is a highway
Every hour a missed exit
Life is just a truck stop
Till you make up your mind on the destination

She makes small talk feel like a TED talk
She makes me feel like I know nothing at all
She’s too smart for me
I stumble when I speak
I’m drunk driving through this conversation
She is an agnostic angel
I’m a whiskey priest
But I only wanna get drunk off what she can teach
And I don’t know if she cares about how I preach
A lesson in pseudoscience in her backseat
Leaves us in an afterglow of creative problem solving

We agree to disagree

We are fish in an aquarium
Swimming all around
We live our lives in circles
Screaming to get out
We all are different colors
We all have different backgrounds
But this tank that we’re trapped in
Makes us all the same now

The manna that rains from heaven
Makes us fight like thieves
Some of us eat our children
Some of us starve in the street
The bigger fish are greedy
They never skip a meal
The little fish band together
And decide who they will ****

One day we will bite the hand that feeds us
When we get fed up with this life
We’re tired of being performers
For the master’s prying eye
We would rather starve than go on living
this kind of lie
That if we keep on swimming
Then everything will be alright

Cows graze in the grass
Caterpillars eat leaves
Humans ate the whole world
Turning God’s oasis into a feast
