Being a writer
Is not a part-time job,
Like being a nurse
Or a teacher:
Where clocking in
And out
Is as simple
As lifting and putting down
A pen.

No,
Writers have words
Flowing though their veins;
Poignant thoughts and emotions
Shape and reshape themselves
Into poems in the writer's mind
Almost by instinct.

But
Do not be fooled:
The writer's world
Is no paradise:
Thoughts tug at our brains
In the middle of the night,
Like a child pulling
At its mother's coat
Beckoning us to the page
Where finally we free the thoughts
That have been held captive.

And finally with sleepy,
Satisfied eyes,
We place the final fullstop
On our latest masterpiece
.
This is not a poem,
but an image representing one.

you always asked me
why i sleep so much
but the truth is i don't
get more than a few
hours of sleep
i lay awake all night
waiting for someone
to notice i'm alone and
i'm scared and i can't
seem to find a reason
to live
i wanted you to notice
i was dropping hints
i was leaving clues
i was waiting

Well,
Here I am and there you are,
And a counter between us.
Standing across it,
You ask me,
"What can I get you, Sir?"
And I tell you,
"A Caramel Latte."
But deep in the depths of my heart,
I wish I could say,
'All I ask for is your heart!'

I look at your Raven eyes!
The way they flicker
When you try to spell my name on the cup.
Shiny like a star, that a sailor follows
In a dark night,
They brighten my thoughts.

Rose
It read,
The tag on your breast.
So beautiful your name is,
But far beautiful you are!
Envied by a thousand blood roses
In the fields of elves.

Now I think to myself,
'How stupid I am,
to lose my heart over you?'

So beautiful you are,
That a million warriors
Would lay down their lives,
just to get a glance.
And The gods would create thunder when you weep,
And storm the galaxies when you're angry!

I savor the Coffee,
Knowing that it is made by your dusk hands.
They have now scribbled your name,
Like a tattoo,
on the pink walls of my heart,
permanent,
they shall stay there till the end of time.

Now that I leave,
I feel bleak, and blue, and grey.
and happy!
Knowing that I will see you again,
Perhaps tomorrow,
or day after.

And perhaps someday,
You shall wear me the ring of love
With the same glow in your soul,
And the same scent on your skin
You shall let my lips meet yours.
This is my first post, so be easy on me.
Suggestions are welcome.
I hope you guys like it. :)

my house would be a lot better if
the kinks were all worked out

if the water wouldnt get so hot
i think i might get burned

if the water wouldnt get so cold
i think i might get frostbite

if i had my own room
instead of sharing with my sister

if my brother wouldnt pester me
about how he needs help
with everything

if my mom wouldnt yell at me
because my dads being mean

if my dad wouldnt annoy everyone
because he thinks hes being funny

if my cat wouldnt jump on my bed
and knock everything off

if my dog wouldnt bark so loud
at the slightest sound

if my hamster wouldnt always
get stuck in the stupid wheel

if i could actually sleep at night
instead of crying for hours

my house would be a lot better if
there werent so many reasons
for it to not feel like a home.
i do not recommend having an anxiety attack when you’re driving

i do not recommend laying in your bed in the darkness in the clothes you wore out today

i do not recommend sulking

i do not recommend being alone

i do not recommend letting people get to you

i do not recommend listening to sad music

i do not recommend thinking listening to sad music will make you feel better

i do not recommend ever letting anyone break your spirit

i do not recommend showing weakness

i do not recommend speaking to someone you care about when you’re upset because you will say something you deeply regret

i do not recommend taking out all your stress on your coworkers or the customers you come across at your job because they truly do not care

i do not recommend telling anyone or anything your problems other than your pets or your notebook

i do not recommend writing sad poetry
i do not recommend listening to the person you’re infatuated with’s favorite song on repeat because it will only make you hurt more

i do not recommend drinking your tea right when you steep it because it will burn your tongue

i do not recommend overthinking

i do not recommend writing sad poetry
i do not recommend writing sad poetry
i do not recommend writing sad poetry

Maybe it was the way he walked
or the way he looked at me.
Those eyes and those lips
I just couldn't stop staring.
Maybe it was the way he talked
or the way he smiled at me from across the room.
That beard and those warm blushing cheeks.
I just couldn't stop falling for him.
But little did I know that this feeling wouldn't last.
It was like a hurricane coming in and leaving so fast.
Having a feeling like this and for all of a sudden be gone in an instant. Without knowing that one day that person would be gone. It's a pain that lasts forever.

I look back to this path of
words and lines and
unfinished works and all I can see is
sadness and heartbreak

it's an odd revelation,
realizing all you've ever
felt strongly enough to write about
was love and pain

there's so many other feelings in the world
so many other stories
but the only ones I can tell
are the ones that have made me want to die in the end

if that isn't sad
I'm not sure what is.

Subtle signs can be seen in everyday life
If you look left and right and listen closely
You can see and hear it in how people act
When they stare into your eyes as cold as steel
You stare straight into their soul
When they seem so nervous sitting by you
You know something is amiss
So listen closely and try to find them
Because they buzz all around us
And if we can act of conjecture
Then we may save ourselves sooner or later
