There are birds in the ocean
Little white waves on a wide blue cape
They kind of swim, kind of fly and  kind of dance
Little bright hopes trying to escape

Though I try to,
I can only catch them with my eyes
Though I want to,
I can only reach up to where the horizon lies

See there are birds in the ocean
Even though we know they're meant for the skies

Sometimes we want to make decisions but these decisions are stuck inside inhibitions where they can't seem to find an escape.

Older

My mirror hangs stoic,
as silently it absorbs all it could with unbiased eyes.
All it receives under the day's sun.
Yet it never stores...
Not memories recent...
Not images perceived from the distant past...

My mirror
exists in the now.
It gives me only the present.
It reveals unequivocally the ground
upon which I stand.
It divulges only in the brutal and honest truth.
The kind of truth photographs could never tell.

Today it showed me what I've been seeing
with eyes half shut.
It showed me that,
I am older now.
Older than I was yesterday.
Older than I was a second ago.

Every wrinkle told a silent tale.
Every tale left quiet scars.
Every scar sang requiems of past mistakes.
And every mistake costed me my youth.

My mirror showed me that...
I'm older now because I've learnt much.
And I'm learning much more
because I'm older now.
An old photograph of myself inspired this.

Waves crashing into the sand
The light of the sun palpable throughout the land
Blades of grass whisper a song
Intimating it won't be long
Birds fly high high high
The afternoon musts be nigh
Listening quietly to the sounds
Although silence is more profound
Steps lead up through the gates
Saying "au revoir" where reality awaits

Spring

The Void
Small, green leaf buds
Growing on the branches of trees
Violet clovers and dandelions
Unfold in the fresh grass
A clean scent fills the air
Birds start calling at last
Frogs croak in the forest
While the undergrowth becomes more dense
Grey clouds gather in the sky
A few cold drops of rain fall
To where the river lies
A rabbit streaks across the field
Taking cover from the rain
While far away a whistle can be heard
From a passing freight train
The last of the winter snow melts
While the rain quickens its pace
Finally, it's springtime
Of many, it is the best of days

When you look at the sky and you say it's blue,
do you see the blue like I see blue?

For we only have words and the words won't do.
What colour is blue? It's the colour of the sky.
What colour is the sky? The sky is blue.

When you look at our love and you say it's true,
do you see true like I see true?

Do you see love the same way too?
You say you love me and I love you.

But we only have words and the words won't do.

The Night

Poetry
The night crept in, slowly but surely.
The night smothers the city in darkness.
The moon shines bright.
The hall light creeps beneath my door.
I glance at the stars, and see such beauty.
I wonder, are you looking at them too?
Wondering if I’m watching the same stars as you.
My mind seems to be drifting away,
Just like my worries.
If I say starry night, I expect you to think of the
Time you were laying on a grass field
Staring into space, even if you weren’t.
The murky sky and the luminous
Stars put me to sleep.
I am safe and warm in my bed,
Underneath the night sky.
I am new to this website, I hope that you like my poems :)

The Ocean

Poetry
The ocean glows
A mysterious shade
Of blue,
Like the
Metallic, cloudless,
Blue sky.
Quiet serenity
As the salty
Ocean goes
Swoosh, swoosh
Against the soft,
Golden sand.
The ocean is
Like a soft
Blanket, comforting
And inviting.
The sound
Of the
Whooshing
Waves swiftly
Slapping the shore.
The cool
Ocean breeze
Is a dream.
As I watch
The sun
Dip down
Into the horizon.
After a long day,
I curl into bed.
Observe the literary elements :)
