Back to square one.
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
I was so
Happy,
So confident.
Where
Did
That
Go?

How I Need You To Be
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
Clock strikes twelve
But still no reply
I've been texting all night
I pray to god
You're safe and sound
No tears
But breath still present
How I need you to be
I need your lungs filled with air
And your heart full of blood
And your mind filled with me.
That's how I need you to be.
If i ever miss any tags that needed to be added please let me know, I want my poetry to be the best it can possibly be for you.

Sun&Moon
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
She is as bright
As the sun.
He is as mysterious
As the moon.
Together
They
Are
Unstoppable.

Roar.
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
The world is a scary place,
But only if you let it scare you
Clench your fists,
Widen your stance
And roar with
As much vigor
As you can manage.

Gaze upon
Ourselves.

Pay Attention
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
Don't listen
To my words
Pay Attention
To the spaces
Between them.
They contain
The galaxy,
And the stars among it
Spell out what I really mean.

All I want
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
All I want
Is to hold your hand
Though miles between us
Makes it impossible.
But  I can still dream
That our fingers are laced
And our lips are touching
All I want,
Is you.

You.

You're destined
To be with
Is,
You.

Somewhere In Between
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
I am
Somewhere
In between
Sitting on
Top of the world
And
Floating
Helplessly
Into the abyss.

Growing Old
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
They say
Growing old
Is hard.
That the
Years beyond
Are the single
Most terrfiying
Thing anyone
Could encounter.
But,
Knowing you'll
Be with me
Makes me
A little less
Scared.

Be You.
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
Remember
Who you are,
Who you were,
Who you want to be.

Love
Yourself,
Others,
Life.

Live
Long,
Happily,
Fully.

Listen
To your parents,
To your siblings,
To yourself.

Care
About others,
About yourself,
About the world.

Cry
Tears of joy,
Of sadness,
Of love.

Change
Is okay,
Is needed,
Is life.

Laugh
Often,
Loud,
Freely.

Be
Yourself,
Strong,
Happy.

You
Will be seen,
Will be heard,
Are loved.

Remember.
Love.
Listen.
Care.
Speak.
Cry.
Laugh.
Be
You.

This is a poem i wrote in a poetry class I took. I also wanted to point out that i do say "Listen to your parents" but I know not everyone's parents aren't what you hope they are. I wish you all the best, and i hope you all find someone who loves you enough to make you feel whole. If you don't think you'll be able to find someone, message me. my twitter is @tsunamioftears and my tumblr is smilingskeletons.tumblr.com

Passion
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
Take your passions
Into your hands.
Weave them into your clothes,
Braid them into your hair,
Mold them into your very
Being.

         (p.p)
No specific date or time for this poem. But it was the last day of high school. I thought of this poem and wrote it on the bathroom stall.

A Reminder.
Payton Patterson Jul 2018
The earth
Isn't round.
It has
Mountains
And hills,
Dips
And crevises.
It is not
Defined,
And neither
Are you.

(p.p) 7/22/17 6:02pm
Don't let the world define you by what they think they know. (Not a flat earth poem, i swear)

Feel (April 21, 2016)

Today I feel like I'm not here.
I take in my surroundings and think to myself,
They are not mine to take in.
Am I really here?
It feels as though my very being could be waved away with the simple swing of an arm.
I feel, but the only thing I feel is the overwhelming inability to feel.
Today I feel unreal.

p.p.
I found this in my draft's. I haven't been on here since 2016.
