Solitary, lie-back moments; of being in the coziest of places surrounded by the most mundane yet magical. Melancholy has a way of tinging itself with those little nuances of memory, and those little nuances of memory tinge themselves with shades of bittersweet and sad recollection over time. Silent reckonings, simplistically suppressing thoughts - all huge contradictions to the slow, natural motion of letting the waves wash over you.

Is this emotional maturity? Is this a step forward? Life is always full of too many intricacies to tell for sure.

The familiar scents of tearstains and revulsion being punctuated by the occasional flicker of light ahead; pain and perseverance, hope and the promise of heaven.

We are so full of contradictions - concrete, grounded beings yet with so many abstractions and complexities in our heads. A constant grapple, a relentless cycle. Coming back to places of washed up memories has this effect on you; but you pull through, you plough through quicksands, you pick up the small rationalities that have gone astray, and you move forward like you’ve always been doing before. It’s the only thing we know how to do.

Walk on our own, on our own two feet.

And pray that whatever knocks us down, will never be enough to sink us.

No battle is won by merely one man
It is won in the blood stained garments of many
It is not dictated by the resolve in his final stand
But the impact of the burden carried by all, on every step of the journey

Your alone,
Though their are millions of stars in the midnight sky beside you,
So you shouldn't have this sinking feeling,
This feeling that makes your heart feel hollow but heavy at the same time.

There are a million stars in the sky,
But for some reason they all feel alone sometime in their life.
Your no different,
Your all alone in this dark sky and you can't find the other lights,
That you are blind to seeing in the darkest of times.

Those million of lonely stars,
Are bleeding out stardust as they fly across the sky,
Trying to find their way but their in a daze.
That's why their just zooming by and stopping to see the others that past them by.

Oh million little lonely stars,
I know you don't mean to.
I know you want to see those other guiding lights,
And wish you could wish on them to.

There goes another falling star,
Because it was not able to open its eyes in time to see,
The actually lit up sky.

But please don't judge them,
Because they are just a million lonely stars that need us people to help,
Help them see were all there friends have been hiding.

We're born with hopeful wonder
We're born with tempestuous emotion
We try not to get pulled under
But get swept up in devotion

We get older and chip away
Rust in the sinking water
Trying to hold onto Maye
Always unwillingly slaughter

We mutate to an object inhumane
Excuse it with "It's in our DNA"
Seems like we're all on *******
Have brain damage more every day

We **** each other left and right
Trying to cope and manage
Wrecked brain and no sight
We create collateral damage

So don't say "I'm only human"
Blaming everything except yourself
I think it's time you tune in
And take the book off the shelf

Your eyes are covered by your own hands
What is it you fear?
It's pathetic and sad
You can't see you are your own puppeteer

When the world looks dark,

Sometimes all you have to do

Is open your eyes.
