A loss of intention
Shrouded in emerald
Its sparkles simmer
As they spread
Throughout tyme
And into the cosmos

One could protest
Their abundance

In exchange
For self-repugnance
It is the way of men
To challenge and dissent
But perhaps diversion
From traditional paths
Will leave that flower be
To grow into itself
And spread its seed
Of universal harmony

In this land of fair and free,
Lived those crossed into three.
Men, women, children and more,
Who were different, but alike in the core.

Decades pass, still tensions rise.
A land cannot contain a people of this size.
War tore it once, twice, more times than I can count,
It’s a ridiculous amount!

From fire born in our hearts
We can unite through the arts.
Instead of teaching our sons how to fire guns,
We can teach them how to be sons.

The coldest of winters cannot separate us anymore.
I swear this, there won’t be another war!
This is our time, the time for the young to beat the old,
Who, our heritage, sold,
Whose hearts turned cold.
A poem that's been on my mind for quite some time. It's regarding the Bosnian civil war back in the 90s, and its effects on today's society.

Late, once more.
My feet stomp across the pavement.
Smoke rises from the cigarette,
as if punctuating my frustration.

Comprehending,
my head begins to hurt.
I ache.
Ache with the knowledge that
your fragrance is intermingled with hers upon your arrival.
A smell that emphasizes my bitterness.
Utter disapproval.

Without a word,
I know.
I knew.
You would be late,
once more.

.........as the sun just went for his nap, I woke up disturbed; in the middle of turmoils, on the edge of disasters.........
Even though I wanted to, I couldn't sleep; I couldn't cry out for company, for I had known long back that my words were weak...

There was some sleep in my eyes, some emptiness in my heart, and hunger in my soul...
The situation here was chaotic, people killing each other for the sake of some long lost freedom...

I wish I could turn back the clock,
and bring the wheels of time to a stop.
But time is obnoxious; then human lust for power,
and some frivolous ideologies about freedom,
make existence even more dangerous...

And when hope runs out, we become merely living dead creatures.... And such had the conditions worsened in this area, that all was lost...

Each night I slept without a single hope of seeing tomorrow's sunshine...
Each time I went out, I filled myself with the sight of my beloved ones, as if it is the final meeting with them...

So I couldn't find much difference between today and the other days....It seems like all was imprinted on me;
My birth, which brought me here;
My journey, which was neither much in favor,
nor much against my stable, yet conflicting mind;
and My end, which was too stubborn to accept me....

I was neglected by everyone, from everyone, and that's what solidified me...
"I hid my pains even from myself,
I revealed my pains only to myself..."

I was unaware of what I was headed to,
or whether I'd make it or not....that was unacceptable to all, I was unacceptable to all....
"My days are keeping on getting bad
My nights  are keeping on getting worst,
I don't know the truths, just I guess I'm thirsty,
But unaware of what would quench my thirst..."

This area is a battlefield,
and my battle here is with the guerrilla force,
my battle here is with the terrorists....

Here I lay,
powerless.
Why reveal
who I am
when
who I am
is not
acceptable.

To be ostracized; To be sealed in
the Hell Fire I raise for raze.
I can't candidly express my thoughts;
for I am different - and what is different
is not able to be understood - and what is not understood
starts wars; gathers men in poison rooms; rips apart bodies
like rag-abortions, grasping at the surrounding cracked Earth.

Here I lay,
powerless.

Ask me who is the most generous man I know and I shall speak his name
Ask me who is the most humble man I know and him I shall acclaim
Ask me who is the most altruistic man I know and his face shall be on the frame
Ask me who is the most kindhearted man I know and you will hear his name again
In my life, I've never met anyone like him again

A man devoted to his family and his community
Always preaching the word of God and leading us to felicity
Always ready to sacrifice his needs for the sake of love and unity
He taught us family, love, fraternity, forgiveness, religion, compassion, tolerance, peace and generosity

I am who I am today thanks to his teachings
He was a leader, a guide, our role model
There is no one like him

He was a father, a brother, a friend, a companion, a grandfather
16 years since he is gone but his words still resonate like thunder
You are no longer here but your teachings linger
A man who was not afraid to cry when needs be but also not afraid to yell and impose order

Always playful with kids and receptive and caring with adults
I feel privileged and lucky to have known him and call him grandpa
For in my life he has played a huge and special part
The memories I will treasure and keep them in my heart

Although he is gone, we will always be together
And his spirit will live on in each one of us forever
From where he is, he is protecting us and guiding us on our way
He is praying for us everyday

He used to pray God "Let it be I who fall sick instead of one of my family member. Let it be I who die instead of someone in my family."
What kind of man wishes for that, you ask.
Someone special I will say, a man of love
And I would like to thank God above
For blessing us with this man, with his kindness and love

I truly believe that God has gifted him with something special
He taught us not to let this world be in our heart for it is not eternal
I know he is in a better place
Watching us all with a smile on his face
I hope we are making you proud from where you are
We are still crying an ocean of tears
As we feel so empty and hold many fears

If I could just turn back the time to those days you used to laugh with us and made us feel so special and loved
Those days you pretended to be in pain when we stepped on your feet while we were playing
Those days when they were only you and us in the room with your half covered grey and curled hair
Those days we used to watch tv together and whenever there was an intimate scene you screamed your favorite word "Touc" and scared us (not that I know what it means)

Time will heal so they say
And time fades away
While a part of us is taken away
I know we will meet again one day
But until that day
Know that you are truly missed
