"**** politics, lets do some dancing."
- Matty Healy
i love him so much
Jack Dec 2018
******* in a car,
Screaming Matty’s lyrics,
An angel placed before me,
With a voice not meant for the ears
Of mere mortals like myself,
The chocolate ocean of her glistening eyes,
Swallow me whole in a Marinas gaze,
But for once I can reach the floor,
Able to stay afloat and no longer
Battered by titanic waves of chaos,
The sweet glow she resonates
Illuminating every dark corner of
My mind,
Once an inescapable void,
Now filled with the fruitful warmth of love,
For the person who surely came from above.

Before me stands a towering figure
One that is doubtlessly divine,
Her shadow consumes me,
But it’s warmth is surely a sign,
That she is the one that all the hurt was for,
And how I just want her to be mine,
A single tear seeps from my eye,
Graced by your beauty,
Unable to make a sound
Out of my corrupt lungs,
Speechless until I force the words out,
“You really are the one, aren’t you?”

“please be naked”

she stands in her doorway wearing just a gown,
I walk in the house, dumbstruck by beauty,
up in her room undoing the bow, the shield simply slides down
caressing her curves, stroking down to the floor,
intertwined bodies craving the touch of the other,
joined as one in the gentle acts of love and lust,
romanticised ideals of perfection and soft rhythm,
delicate groans as two become one,
the broken poet, for the moment, is gone,
my drug addiction of you, just wanting more,
As my heart bleeds, love begins to pour.

“please be naked”.
this poem is influenced by The 1975 instrumental song "please be naked". i regularly think of this song as romanticising the act of *** and the trust required with it rather than what most songs make it today. despite having no lyrics the song speaks volumes to me and id definitely recommend it to anyone. stay safe and live well. you fell in love with somebody else;
i fell in love with the 1975

Carnival in the city, you looked at me
Soft flickers,
Bulbs that kept me awake.
Spoke to me in vintage music
I was a clown.

Carnival in the city, you squeezed my chest.
Pulled me by my pigtails,
Thrusted into pastel carousels at rest
Turned into empire state rollercoasters
I wailed,
I wasn’t tall enough to ride yet.

But I liked it.
Cotton candy in my best tulle dress,
I’ve got my frilly socks in a mess,
I thought there was nothing else across.
You got me stuffed bears at the ring toss.

We spun too fast.
The bulbs flickered off.
I wiped the paint off my face and
Caught sight of the Carnival in the country instead.
And your beauty dissipates.

You're not afraid to be
When it's all you've
Ever known

Can you imagine us?
That us watching indie films together
Exchanging our favorite books
Listening to The 1975 while making cookies
Walking to that filthy streets of the city
Going to that old chapel
Visiting that school where we met
Singing together in my parents' couch
Attending our favorite artists' shows?
Because I can.
And do you know what makes me feel more sad?
The fact that all I can do is imagine.

We stand side by side
on the corner of
the road.
I watch you smoke
your cigarette-- you
**** in and blow.
It begins to rain; I
check the time on
my phone,
And I say to you,
"Matty, I want to go home."
You ask, "Why, babe? Did I
make you upset?"
I reply, "No, but I am
getting wet."
You give me a smile,
take off and hand me
your jacket.
"Matty, don't you need this?"
"Nah, baby. Have it."
So we stand side by side
at the end of the
With my head on your shoulder
and your arm
around me.
