Web
You spun a web that worked for you and I was simply a bug caught up
Wrapped in this
Waiting for you to deliver the final blow

Listen to the words
Wind whispers in your ear
Full moon is here again
Be quiet - they are near

Don't let them hear you
Maybe they'll go away
But pictures in your mind -
They stay

And darkness knows
Your every move

The creatures dancing in the night
Spiders in the corners
Hiding from the light

labyrinths of interwoven
                            time..

Cling on the dawn of morrow.
unseen until the rigor of seasons.

I gaze out and splendor at the
     entanglement interlaced
before my eyes,

                            and smile.

God, it's raining
ash embers and the noxious spiders
are jumping from
pole to rusted pole.

I really blew it up,
gosh golly,
I really blew it up.

I needed to. The venomous
blob was poisoning my mind,
but gosh golly!

The city is gone-- crater left where
church, congregation, lovers once
held hands under the blue moon.

The smoke bomb filled the sky
and it vaporized
all but the brown recluse.

Careful, that venom stings.

~           *light on,
still-frame freeze of black bodied eight-legged life
clinging to stained acrylic. we stare at each other pretending we're not real
until one of us moves.

it was me.

A tiny daring spider built a gorgeous circular web
on my window pane. It's in my view
again and again. I reserved
that spot as my look-out-to-think pane. But now
the spider has taken it, dare I complain.

Rain, wind and sun have blessed the spider’s dwelling,
as I watch him hide in the web’s corner wrapped in silk
and pouncing on his prey. He clearly is not scared
of me and uses the glass as god’s grace.

I ask him everyday-
But why that pane?
Do you have calendars or time constraints?
Are you in bliss, sadness, or pain?

He finally came, in my dream last night,
Dressed in a beautiful white silky robe, very bright,
and said in a husky voice-

Just like you, I am the creator’s creation,
Here to fully blossom in this incarnation ,
But you and I very different,
All life is relative, it's an illusion.

i have a friend
one real friend
her name is crystal
she could never hurt anyone really
but people are afraid

she is calm and sweet
and furious
there is fire in her soul
and loneliness too
i think

we are the same
terrifying and lonely
natural enemies of the world
a perfect pair
much love to crystal the giant rose tarantula

Hello there

insect buzzing through the air

why don't you come & sit in my snare...

                                  ...I mean chair

I have six legs, see?

I'm just like you

oh, these?  my arms?

why yes, there's two

so come, little one

dawn has begun

take refuge from the sun

in this hammock I've spun

there, isn't that nice?

what?  your legs?

you said they won't move?

there, there my winged friend

I know just what to do!
