Sinners cast out of heavenly firmament
I may still be wringing my wings
But do not miss take this moment of reprieve as a slip
His fingers trace closer to her lifeline
My senses cry mischief
I've met your kind
Newly downed gods
licking fangs in anticipation
Gods' forgotten are not naive
to your ways of rebound recreation
Demons are the aforementioned sinners. They are the forgotten children of the gods who were initially cast out of heaven for their relentless curiosity of the human race. Their self ordained purpose is to train the newcomers to control their (blood)lust; which is mostly quenched through ****** deviance. These newcomers are rebels by choice. Nonconformity is more of a hobby than a necessity for them. But they are woefully unaware of the pitfalls that come with being cast from the firmament. One of which is mortality. The other: love.

Crackling mischief waxes every moon; Moon, the plaited devil
Three harvests blue, summits everest shelf to scrape out crunchy
Bliss, and scurries away, with exasperated steps in tow.
For my niece, Monoshree (Moon, for short)

I have been left unattended for too long, in a city by the Bay
& mischief is dying to play,
I can only imagine...
As the chaos escapes from within
The beast is unable to stay tame

I AM UNSUPERVISED, IN A CITY THAT DOESN'T KNOW MY NAME....

That day, something got into me.
Approaching the corner of 155th
and Broadway on the Upper West Side,
my friend and I were only a block from home.

Either we'd been on a mission for candy necklaces
or bubble gum cigars, from the place where the guy
was always grumpy, never actually scary,
and the sawdust on the floor, the real cigars
in fancy boxes, were something to wonder about.

Or we had just scored our first fresh sugar canes,
one each, and much taller than either of us.
The kindly Puerto Rican green grocer, proud
of his new shop, hoped we'd try the plantains
too, getting a kick out of our delight
in what he'd always known.

The light was red, and we weren't in a hurry.
I just got curious about this trap door on the side
of the old cast iron signal post,
and decided to see
if it would open... and it did.

Smiling to myself, an uncommon, delicious
sense of mischief lighting me up inside,
I calmly flipped a switch.

Instantly, all four lanes of traffic, heading north
and south on Broadway came to a screeching halt.

The feeling of power was intoxicating.
And unforgettable.

Had I been an older kid, had the policeman
who happened by been less lenient, had anyone, God forbid,
been injured, I could have been in some serious trouble.

Injury never entered my mind, and maybe the officer saw that.
All in all, I got away with the only really naughty thing
I did as a child, and still get to smile.
And remember.

Around the backs of houses:
Overgrowth cloaked a
Horde of little rascals with
Pockets full of pennies.

Some were almost as tall as the
Highest stalks and jumped
Once a minute to gauge the number
Of silly long strides left to spring from.

Eyes fixed forwards, soldiering
On to the treeline and then just
Beyond - Through the ditch and
Brambles, emerging onto stones:

Ten feet towered with a
Steep ascent as a clear warning
Raptly ignored by the imps --
The chasers of thrills and stories

And melted misshapen metal -
Wherein lies the innocence of their
Treacherous endeavors. Those
Pennies would return mangled and bent

Enough to weave a tale of valiance
And near-death peril so captivating
It couldn't possibly be spun;
For in your hand you held a token.

"The world vibrated and ear drums
Exploded, running to cover from
The screaming, steaming demon:
Dublin to Belfast express!"
They would say.

Sinead,
Holy angel kiss.
Knife to your throat,
A spell.

Magical powers,
Wringing out prowess.
Super nova to Spare.

Magical Being,
Sorcerer, Dark One, Witch.
A twirl of her red fingers,
Spells mischief.

Sinead,
Young Witch scorned.
Scolded by mortals,
Mortalities breath.

Magical Witch,
Beautiful and ****** is she.
Prowess,
That of a Puma.
Hiding in the sea.

In the sea of people,
She awaits her turn.
To cause a Nightmare,
To bring fear to burn.

Magical Being,
Sinead Wool.
Spreads her wings,
Tricking the Angels..
