I find myself locked in a chamber of blocks
I'm not sure of the time since I don't have a clock
And it might have been days but my head's in a haze
Hell it may have been weeks since I entered this maze

My route might be round and I'm hearing these sounds
That suggest maybe soon my own death might be found
There's clanking and groaning, I just heard a hiss
This shrub with a face looking awfully ******

I dismissed of the notion of friendly emotion
The plant just exploded and caused a commotion
There's lava and gravel just fell on my head
If I didn't fall sideways I'd likely be dead

But I fell down a ledge and another live hedge
Snuck up and demolished some half of the edge
So now I'll dig up but I don't have a pick
It's awfully hard since the stone is quite thick

And my friends are all ***** and they don't hear my screams
From this pit in a cavern knee deep in a stream
So please take my advice 'fore you dig in the earth
It's more likely than not going to not be quite worth it
Inspired by Yahtzee's wonderful poem about FTL (found here:, I decided to write a poem about Minecraft. This is something I never anticipated doing, but anyway, here it is!

Walking into the woods
I stared at giant redwood trees
The leaves being crushed under my feet
I sat beside the wise tree and looked up into the moon
Listening to the cries of overhead flying loons
The silence was a sound itself, it was strange to hear myself think for once
I sat there reading and thinking until down went the sun,
I got up and left my small haven in the woods, returning to My meager shelter
Torches ablaze as I returned home
It calmed my inner helter-skelter
A minecraft poem
I stand on the edge of the mine,
while I wait for my potions to brine,
I mine all day long.
Maybe I’m wrong,
But there could be diamonds right there.
I mine for that blue shine in despair.
Hoping that Iĺl find it here
Trying to be a Musketeer,
I went straight down,
Im looking around,
But no diamonds!
Iĺl never see the horizon
until Iĺl find the shine
It may be the life line.
We all felt like this before. Mining for diamonds, looking for that blue rock. And finally finding them. Even for a pro, you'll always remember that first shine.
And then in just a click of a button,
I'm all alone. Nothin' but 2 Mutton.
For I have been stranded,
and perhaps abandoned
from my dear friends.
I see some stems
of an old tree, dying in despair.
I see a new land offshore,
but the distant island has no grass.
I went to the cave, nothin’ but bats.
So I went deeper forward,
toward the mighty horrors.
I found some iron and gold,
I make a tool to behold.
After some more iron,
I acquire some attire.
Then suddenly, out of the dark abyss
I found my true and only bliss!

After a few days more,
I have my tools galore.

A long time from then…
I built myself zen
All along the old island,
a long time after my first diamond,
I see something strange…
I know something’s a change
I see it coming closer,
I peek out like a toaster.
And there a person behold!
He was in a boat, looking bold,
I went out to the shore,
After all, I’m not gonna ignore.
I love Minecraft

And you craft your weapons
You put up your walls
Cause when the night comes around
Monsters try to hunt you down.
Does it not make sense?
Even in Minecraft things will try to get to you
You can't get away from them.
You can't get away from the darkness
You can't get away from the pain they bring
As they attack you with their bows
Blows up all your efforts
**** you slowly.
You can never get away from your thoughts.
What you can do is watch.
Watch as the hearts break one by one.
You can try to play games, ***
But you can never find an escape.
Something I wrote because I've been playing a lot of Minecraft recently.

Block by block
I delve down
is it iron?
is it gold?
or only gravel and stone

toiling with pick and shovel
I dream obsidian spires
towering 190 blocks above the shore

I dream wheat fields
and cow pens
nestled amidst rolling hills

I dream discovery

but before these
there must be iron

His dad,
hearing a beat,
turned the key,
not knowing
she was in there.
But shirt off, his
fourteen year
old, the CEO
just laughed and said:
"Dad, go back to bed."

He had won the game
And nights spent
building a barrel
of monkeys
watched him
chop down wood
on YouTube
finally had
paid off —

It only took
for her shirt to
come off.
The warped world of minecraft playing post-Millenials
I try each day to understand.

I love to mine, I'll mine all night
Until the creepers come out and fight
The creepers blow up, and I go down
back to my little village *town
