Here, I'll give you this seed
It's yours to look over
Look for its needs
And watch it grow older

Look for more, this can't be your last
It's part of your present
And not of your past

Here, I'll give you a ***
Plant the seed there
Make sure it get's nourished
Show it you care

Don't hide it away
Let it bask in the sun
When you part ways,
Make sure you are done

Strength is a subjective term
One of which that applies to all
Sometimes I loose my grip so firm
And I drop the ball
But I alwasy get back on my feet
Because i am my own source of strength

As a paper clip
I've tried to avoid your magnetic pull
Your gentle pull
Flexing me free from my
Long established boundaries
Coaxing me
To break
Free
And now
You softly draw me into your orbit
Undeniable attraction
You are slowly teaching me
I am more
Than my
Hardened
Metal
Curves

When I was a child,
I was taught poetry wasn't mild,
It was deep as the sea,
And it seemed truly unachievable for me.
I was taught poetry had to rhyme,
Every single line, every single time.
So poetry seemed out of my reach,
Like chasing a seagull down a beach,
Jumping ever so slightly away,
Or soaring into the sunny day.

So I never thrived for what I thought would,
No, Could
Never be.

I guess now I'm fixing the mistakes of past me.

It felt so good
To slowly watch
As you slipped from my mind
Faded out of my life
As I gradually let go
Of you,
Someone I once begged to stay
now glad to watch go
And even though it hurt
It felt so good to finally forget
Now free to be happy
And live my own life
And no matter how much you meant
No matter how much I loved you
I'm finally at peace
And this is not to say
That I have forgotten
Because I will always remember
The beauty
The pain
The love that we shared
Yes I still love you
But I’ve learned to let go
