To the homeless man walking on Street
I pray for you
I hope you have something to eat
A place that is warm for you to lay your head
An  maybe even new socks so your feet arent cold when you go to bed
I hope that you are filled with God's grace I hope that you have a smile on your face I know it can be hard when life gets you down but know that everybody sometimes has a frown
I know sometimes you think that I don't understand this place that you're in but you are wrong I've been there to and it is hard sometimes u need give it time it'll be alright things get better
So many  homeless Americans it is depressing people who join together to help this epidemic

Two doors down
from a bar
two people,
strangers to me,
sit in a doorway
up on sixth street;
Wearing winter caps,
winter coats,
even though,
I’m sure they know
it isn’t winter yet,
but it’s so cold.
They have each other
as they sit in separate chairs
leaning together.
I wanted to give them
a dollar or some food
but they are sleeping
and I know how hard
it is to get good sleep
in this life.

If I told you they
were children
would you care?

If I told you
they were women
would you care?

If I told you they
were white men
again would
you care?

If I told you
they were black
brown skin
would it matter
At all?

If I told you
at one time
over fifteen years ago
I slept on a couch
in a hallway
in a building
with cracked
and shattered glass
windows that
let cold winds in.
Cuddling next
to my oldest friend
one head poking out
at each end
from under the thick
sleeping bag I had.
Fully loaded for winter,
except between us
we only had one ski mask
and one pair of gloves,
so we switched off and on.

If I told you what was wrong
so you could find what’s right
how our lives our deeply intertwined
and that this soap box is yours
as much as it is mine?

Would you take the time to see
and help the myriad of yous and mes
that are still suffering,
no matter what they look like?

When I slipped into sleep
flattening the frostbitten blades
that liquify under my body
the creeping amperage of aches
distract me from exposure

When he said 'It ain't easy out there'
he didn't envision blood curdling screams
Vivid nightmares that would pop me off my cardboard mattress
The ever common theme of falling
hoping I would hit the gelid side street

The path is singular when succumb to tunnel vision
in a gritty simulation I carry light
wallet, knife, and the daunting magic meter
In the romantic beginning, I was Aristippus twice removed
sailing on an escape route, against the grain until the end (at least)
traces of being Jan 2017
I’m small enough to cry for those with frozen teardrops
who can’t get up off the side of the road to die in peace
So I'll abide in this polar freezing cold silent deliverance
where a  hollow warmth  hides the tears that  aren't for
cryin’ alone

There’s a bitter arctic wind blows right through the tree trunks
there’s no shelter leaning on the dream of the leeward other side
This winter isolation grasps on impatient pieces of frayed light
like hope a mustard sized seed of shine may move venerable
mountain peaks

Who ever knows how long salvation lasts ? They said he died
sleeping on a cardboard  comforter and blue  plastic tarp duvet;
a holey old coat stained with all what went wrong in life …
And .., I feel a sickening guilt of a warming fire's thickening
smoke

The chimney’s icicles drip an angel’s frozen teardrops
But .., I can’t find no heaven in this big ol’ world ...

Hobo Sun,
My heart beside me
Hobo Sun,
This life defile me
Hobo Sun,
Oh here I'm following...

chorus
I hit those streets, tracks, highways,
and I'm following, follow every-day,
I'm following, every-day.

My Hobo Sun,
Your path known
Hobo Sun,
Mine not so
Hobo Sun,
CAN'T YOU HEAR ME!
Hobo Sun!
HOBO SUN?

chorus
I hit those streets, tracks, highways,
and I'm following, follow every-day,
I'm following, every-day.

Hobo Sun,
I'm homeless...
Hobo Sun,
I know this...
Hobo Sun,
Have nothing
Hobo Sun,
You're everything...

chorus
I hit those streets, tracks, highways,
and I'm following, follow every-day,
I'm following, every-day.

Hit those streets, those highways,
Hit those streets, tracks, highways,
Hit those streets, every-day
Hit those streets.

I hit those streets...

alcohol

drugs

those streets,
my tracks, high way

chorus
I hit those streets, tracks, highways,
and I'm following, follow every-day,
I'm following, every-day.

chorus
I hit those streets, tracks, highways,
and I'm following, follow every-day,
I'm following, every-day.

The frigid nights
Opens the mouth of the
World so wide you can
clearly see the stars
Shiny white and yellow teeth above
Snow covers the landscape around
me
Animal ***** stains
the ground around me
Dirt and rocks peek through

One lonely man
In tattered garbs
Walks in the mud
Each leg lifted (plops)
with every step.
His breath visible,
Red and blue is seen
in the distance.

Cold colorado, with sharp aggressive trees
stabbing the skies
the forest is a prison, winter.
Pillows of snow falling,
tucking the people
into their warm fired homes.
Homeless lay awake
in a frozen reality,
the snow hides everything from
people , what you forget,
Is usually always forgotten
in the snow.
Something kind of narrative like. In need of feedback
Not a good thing
When one lives in poverty
Situations are often dreary
While in a state of uncertainty
There are dark clouds
That appear in the sky
Nothing but somber moments
As life sadly passes you by

In the darkness of the night,
Away from all street lights,
Some drifters walk past,

A cold wind is blowing,
Where are you going?
Please look at me,

Hopeless and desperate,
Hiding in the shadows,
Forgetting who I am.
