hero
protector
guider
and mentor
however for me my father was my first
tormentor
narcissist
and the monster that hid under my bed
with a bottle to keep him company

happy father’s day to all the people who have a dad like this, they have only made us stronger

father's day means nothing to me
other than a time to sit in my room
and search my brain for at least one good memory
i have had with my father.

father,
you are the reason for my battle scars.
you are the reason for my self-loathing.
you are the reason for my childhood trauma.
the reason why i cannot trust anyone in my life.
the reason why i flinch when any male touches me.
the reason why i fear saying, "no," to any man.

you are the reason and the root
for every single problem i have.
but you would never and will never
acknowledge this
for you are far too conceited
to realize you are capable of wrongdoing.

you're the reason i want to say goodbye.

but happy father's day, i guess.

i have my own man-figure
my own man figure

i believe everybody has it too

three letter,
makes world better
dad

my dad is really a superhero
i bet the avengers can't even beat him

he is so strong
don't need muscle,
just conceptacle

he is a real keeper too
he keeps me from the evilish
he keeps me from starving
he keeps me from bad dreams
and he keeps his tears
from running down his cheeks
and he does it all invisibly
silently

he is really great, isn't he?

he is a clown
for my own

he is the annoying too
sometimes

he doesnt talk much
but i still love him anyway

you deserve better too

There is no one I have been through more with. No one else I fought this war with. No one else I battled with most. And no one else since she was diagnosed. So thank you for being both mother and father. Thank you for being my shield and my armour.

Please do not let society deceive you.
Father’s Day is not just for
The strong, the brave,
And the handsome fathers.
It’s not just for the grill masters, the family men,
And the ones who have mastered a car’s engine.
Father’s Day is also for the single dads,
Struggling to make ends meet,
Who find themselves crying at 3 am because
They don’t think they’re good enough.
Father’s Day is for the dads who are
Away from their children, fighting tooth and nail
For their country, not knowing whether
They will ever return home.
Father’s Day is for the stay-at-home dads,
Who don’t help support the family financially,
But enjoy all the small moments of
Their childrens’ upbringing.
Father’s Day is not just for
The strong, the brave,
And the handsome fathers.
Father’s Day is for all dads and father figures.
