a great man said
that to love,
is to allow yourself
to free fall helplessly
into another
falling for you
wasn't soft and quiet
like autumn leaves
dancing in the wind,
it was closing my eyes
and diving
into the unknown
like a baby bird
finding my wings,
unsure if the jump
would **** me
or set me free.

Love is that sweet
which dumb eats
Tastes and enjoys
But cannot say what it is.
Can Anyone Define Love? I think It Is Impossible. What Do You Say?

i spend most nights at home
falling in love all over again
with my memories of you
and your silken fingertips
slowly dancing their way
along my spine,
leaving a trail of stardust
in their wake.
- sweeter than honey.
Smoke Scribe Apr 2020
scribing with smoke and utter devotion
———————————————-

****!

half an orange, half a grapefruit,
on a crystal dish, resting on a fine china plate,
Royal Worcester, from England  retrieved,
in a smoke cloud, upon my chest appears

the coverlet up to my chin pulled,
my arms tucked in tight, side by side,
the light turned off, the television too,
who?  in a smoke cloud, catch a faintly glimpse

the menu does not mention love, or utter devotion,
no recollection of ordering either, and yet,
here I-am, well served, piping hot and well chilled,
scribing of one’s shadow, she who never disappears

she, whose never disappoints, late in the evening,
early in the morning, a mirage, a ghost, magical elusive,
lightest touch of a forehead kissed, a tingle for evidence,
but not the only proof of her

utter loving and devotions appearance

the moonlight
which i once longed for
like a lover yearning
for just one more taste,
now leaves me aching.
i no longer look forward
to the velvet nights
that i once found such comfort in,
for in the darkness
all i can see
is your ghost.
- dripping with sin, do it again.

on frozen ground i lay
your love clawing at my chest
i am your servant
your demon in the night.
an icy kiss
whispers across my throat,
now it is clear;
you are my sweetest demise.
- am i good enough for you?

i once read
that in ancient times
once lovers
had shared each other
underneath the light
of a full moon,
they were bonded
in every lifetime.
perhaps that is why
i can't seem to escape you.
- my soul has belonged to you in every carnation.

If I could take this
moment and
own it,
hold it,
like a piece of paper,
I'd fold it
and
stow it away,
like
a pocket knife.

If you would be
my wife,
I'd be the
happiest guy in
the world.
You'd be my
girl,
and I'd be your man...
I would hold
your hand and kiss you,
and you'd never
miss me again.
