The greens and yellows of the grass and trees
The cloudless blue sky
And the warm breeze

All this on a Wednesday afternoon
Some quiet and peace
My mind is at ease

I sit here by my window
It’s slightly cracked
The wind outside sounds frigid
& the array of snowdrifts remind me of
the weather from when I was a child.
It’s crazy to think how the universe
works with my being.
I’m in a renewal stage in which
I need to tend to my inner child
& the world entices it.
I miss the calm
the silence
I need to indulge in that more
I felt childlike & awakened, tested, walking through those knee high snow drifts.
It was exhilarating in a sense.
Playing through those snow drifts
on the rez as a child, it seemed like a
treacherous wonderland.
Now those words are each of there own.

Like being wrapped up in a thick blanket on a cold night,
Like waking up early and getting the first ray of sunlight;

Like flipping channels then catching reruns of your favorite show,
Like discovering new music and keeping it on repeat;

Like the wind in your hair and your toes in the sand,
Like the crashing of waves and the ripples they make—

You.

You are the happiness in all this and more.

Solitude,
they say, is the drifting glacier
amidst a rolling sea
against a faint yellowish light
at dusk over a particularly misty sky;
you see a white fish washed onshore —
quivering and pulsing,
then stilled.
A fleeting glimpse of the glowing dusk yesterday. It's a very serene, calming kind of color exclusive to the sky that no human touch can wish to reproduce.

run, run
better run fast
jump, go high
go higher
hide, try under
check if it’s still there
BOO!
now you gotta run, again
                           jump, again
                           hide, again
                           check, again
but it’s gone,
because of her...
“hey baby, I got you”
I mean it’s obvious but her=a mom.

You are a beautiful sight to look at.
Your light shines when everything's consumed by darkness.
You bring calmness.
There are other things I can stare at but my eyes would always look for you.

Cast me gently, let me sink.
Put me into the person of a smooth grey pebble
Carry me to the shallows, and gently drop me in
That I may fall, disappear, and forget for a bit, the whining treble,
The troubling bass, the choir of cacophonies, a migraine
Appearing around my temples and at my back;
That I may forget, I lack, I lack, I lack, alack.
May the waters churn and lap upon the surface,
I lie, I curl, I sleep, I exist, quiet, in topaz;
My simplicity is a privilege: I don’t need to imagine I’m a gem,
Even if I am. Water covers me, and you aren’t to call them,
Pick me up and dry me until the sea turns garnet the second time.
Let me drown in peace, out trouble; let me remember I’m
Better than waves of doubt would have me think.

There is something special
About listening to
Calming music
As you're falling asleep

Your soul
Can freely float
As you rest
Underneath
Inspired by every Sleeping At Last song I have ever heard

To learn to be calm
Is something I long to know
Can't wait for that day
