The world is changing quickly now,
much faster than before.
It asks a lot of humankind,
and then it asks some more.
BLM and Covid,
more dis-ease and doubt.
We’re under so much pressure,
all anxious and burnt out.
A weight has just been lifted,
feeling lighter than before.
A time to rest, a time to heal,
that’s what this time’s for.
The struggle of the old year
and the promise of the New.
I’ll look back and think ’21,
that’s the year I grew.

To you, their rights
are a minority priority

You're entitled, spoon fed
Gorged with greed
a coralling disease

Dormancy
a fence that protects you,

but a barbed wire noose
                           wrapped
                           round their throats.

You're just another ring
in the chains of oppression
just needed to be said really. saddened by the inaction of humankind.
tried to play around a bit with formatting.

Grass, truly greener
when one side's left to rot

But, then again
that is exactly what you profit off
A world where it is easier for the white, straight, wealthy males to thrive. Where is the equality? Change needs to also come from them. Why don't more those who are privileged use this to their advantage?
USE YOUR VOICE
If you’re incarcerated black man
for selling rock around the block
Outplay Reagan with your smart investments
In the 80’s rock
By getting some white kid to sell the rocks
Plus
The state protects them, ain’t for us
Finding any reason to keep us locked up.
Crack epidemic was an easy go to to sent young black men to jail and keep the black revolution from happening. Anyway Crack is Wack.

Dear Police,
My skin color isn’t a weapon
Although it seems like blackness
Is a gun in a white man’s perception
We are amazing
But don’t get enough time to show it
My brain functions as good as yours
Until you use your gun to blow it
How one black person acts
Shouldn’t ruin my reputation
You purposely attack my kind
And that’s the definition of discrimination
If you just let us live
You’d learn we are plentiful
But what you really don’t understand is
My black is beautiful.

BLM
You watch these videos
Of people shouting BLM
Because if your black you are condemned
To them,
Because to them you are not equal
And somehow ****** is legal
But only if your a white cop,
SAY MY NAME
My name is Rayshard Brooks,
I am only 37,
I feel asleep in the cops car,
Resulting in me being restrained and shot because I was believed to be intoxicated,
SAY MY NAME
My Name is Daniel *****,
I am 41,
I died in 2020,
I died due to strangulation from cops,
They used their body weight to slam me to the ground and strangle me,
SAY MY NAME
I am George Floyd,
I am 46 years old with a child,
A cop sat on my neck for 8 minutes and I died due to strangulation,
I had a kid and a wife,
SAY THEIR NAMES
Their names and lives are more important than your privilege,
SO speak up and speak loud,
Because you are their voice,
You can be the voice of the unheard,
And the misrepresented.

I could tell you multiple stories of jealous people who tried to steal my light,
And fail cause they had no self-control over their own life

I could tell you about the time, I was a kid & almost got shot
While mom was calling my name to come home, right up the block

I could tell you, one by one, how I met each girl & thought I had a potential wife
But one by one, they showed me that was a lie

I could show you how hard life is right now, living as a black man
But if I did, I bet you that you still wouldn’t understand

jesus ******* christ.
the days were numbered and i
forgot to start a tally of
lines carved into the cement walls.
these walls are the only thing
keeping me sane, my sanity
isn’t what it use to be but thank
god i’m not surrounded by
people infected with
ignorance.

rampant, raving, and rioting because they’ve all lost their ******* minds
and ******* lives
people are dying, dropping dead like flies.
and we start to realize,
wake up and smell the artificial roses
planted in front of the white house.
a white house burned
a white house on fire
a white house and it’s lawn turned to ash.
there’s nothing left but the smoke that rises
straight to the sky.

and it’s okay, the family inside took their time,
made sure the door was shut and locked as they left,
never left their lamp on inside so someone came in,
said the skeleton of a home is worth rebuilding,
refurnishing.
matching the curtains with the drapes
and the sofas with the carpet.
the rug was a gift, they say.
for helping and fixing and replenishing
and making the home welcoming to guests.
guests that never received invitations,
never allowed in.
guests who are not guests,
guests who own that ******* house.
guests who own you.

follow the flame.
follow the footsteps.
find where it starts and let
no one forget it.
you’ve a duty to uphold,
and people to protect,
this was only the beginning
of the very end.

happy new years
At the beginning of 2020, Australia was on fire.
The threat of WWIII was all too real.
Baby dictators playing with "disposable" human lives.

Disposable lives
Disposable masks
Disposable gloves
Disposable plastic bags
. . . and here were are again with disposable lives.

My family and I survived the Oregon trail and not one of us died from dysentery. A small victory!

George Floyd, "I can't breath."
Black Lives Matter.
LGBTQ+ Lives Matter.

Marching in the streets and shouting until I can't speak. Organizing and criticizing institutions that WE built. People WE put into office. And my more political topics that WE are responsible for.

Black Lives Still Matter.
LQBTQ+ Lives Still Matter.
Anti-maskers, "I can't breath."

A shame and a reflection in the United States education system.

Me walking my dogs, "I can't breath. . . without a mask"
Ashes falling from our apocalypses skys.
My skin burns from the air.
I my dog sneezing because they don't have masks.
My mask discolored from this short walk.

Good-bye Oregon!
