scissors
****** wrists
the dark creeps in
worthless
it whispers
hiding under beds and in closets
inky tendrils wrapping around heads
pitch black room
midnight
red lines under ribs
appear black in the dark
hugging knees
scarred
not enough
never enough
broken
irreparable
thinking of the roof
a rope
pills
just to make this pain end
just to end it all

nobody nowhere Dec 2024
Running towards your own death,
voluntarily.

It’s waking up with an immediate anxiety attack
over having to eat to survive.

Every bite denied is a victory over desire
and a demonstration of
self-control
in the most
out-of-control way.

If you’re feeling sinister
Have your mom call the minister
Nail you to your splintered cross
Let him purify your thoughts
Regurgitate old bible verses
To further rid you of your curses
Leave your woes and your coven
Take your head out of the oven
Swear, kick, bite, and scream
Just like Linda on the screen
Put down your crucifix
Get off your cross of sticks
There are pills they can administer
If you’re feeling sinister
Florescent coats, fluorescent lighting
Padded walls to stop the fighting
You’re words and tasks become repetitive
You needed a stimulant, they gave you a sedative
Tell them the truth, they’ll correct it
You won't get better looking for an exit
So turn off the TV.
You with your poison-filled i.v.
Swap your identity
For some medical remedy
Don’t you know they’ll take you out of school
If you’re feeling a little cruel?
Keep your head down in the halls
Ignore the writing on the walls
Don’t listen to the slamming doors
They can’t live here anymore
No, the room hasn’t gotten colder
You’re just simply growing older
Ignore your phantom visitors
If you’re feeling sinister

Mask up or they'll see.
They'll see what you hide,
what you try not to be.
Don't let them in.
Don't let them win.
Do not show them the person within.

i'm hurting less than you
look at your legs
see how white lines lace them

i'm hurting less than you
look at your body
see how you can feel your ribcage

I'm hurting less than you
look at your hair
see how it's dead and tangled

I'm hurting less than you
look at your face
see how there are tears waterfalling down

I'm hurting less than you
look at your reflection
see that you are talking to yourself

Raw
he said put some meat on those bones
he didn't know I was a carnivore
because I will chew myself up
and spit myself out
until there's less than there was before

And she fell and fell down the hole..Hit the bottom and remained there
Darkness and depression surrounded her
She was too weak to move or speak
And so weeks turned into month turned into years
One day she opened her eyes and a slice of bread lay in her lap
Hesitant at first she nibbled it
The next day there were two slices and she ate them
Time passed until she felt strong enough stand up
Determined she climbed up the hole again
Above the ground she was flashed by the sudden brightness
The cerulean blue sky
The soft breeze
The birds singing mellifluous songs
The sweet scent of honeysuckle….
She was not used to it
But she found bliss in all these things
Years passed but one day
She returned to the entrance of the hole with a wheelbarrow of soil
And filled it up until it was no longer
So that nobody could ever go there
