Kiss my thoughts
Listen to my lips
Hold my heart
Feel my hips
Judge my motives
Understand my actions
Get drunk off of my love
Fill me with passion

You love me—you are sure—
I shall not fear mistake—
I shall not cheated wake—
Some grinning morn—
To find the Sunrise left—
And Orchards—unbereft—
And Dollie—gone!

I need not start—you’re sure—
That night will never be—
When frightened—home to Thee I run—
To find the windows dark—
And no more Dollie—mark—
Quite none?

Be sure you’re sure—you know—
I’ll bear it better now—
If you’ll just tell me so—
Than when—a little dull Balm grown—
Over this pain of mine—
You sting—again!
Has it really been a year?
A year of pain and bad memories.
Let's talk about it.

Imagine all the time I spent thinking about what you did.
Imagine all the time I used falsely hoping.
Imagine all the nights I spent thinking what was wrong with me.

I thought you were a good person.
I thought you would keep your word.
I thought you wouldn't do such a thing.

It's been a year,
Yet it only feels like yesterday.
Truthfully, everyday feels like that one day last year.

spouting violets
i've personified
the Stars, the Clouds,
the Sun, the Moon,

the Trees, the Breeze,
a Red Balloon

i've personified
Death and Love,
and Pride and Gloom

but I'm finding it very hard
giving human traits to you

It's just four words
But his knees are up his lips
Afraid it might not work in the long run
If she leaves one day
Will he ever find love again?
He loves her like the ocean waves kissing the shore
Like the sun burning despite sleeping but his love beating with fervor
For the gleaming moon with elegance in its eminence
But these four words are impossible for him to speak
"Will you marry me?"
Might never cease to exist

He doesn't know where to begin, for these four words overwhelm him
Flooded with excitement but doused in fear, losing his train of thought when she's near
His love for her burns a flame so bright, lighting up the darkest of nights
He thinks to himself, "we've leaped the hurdles of three words, I love you, I can do these four"

He imagined the first night with her
Will be the most intimate, not ***
But just being with her in bed
Pillow fights to jumping on springs
Talking until the sun rises
Knowing that this will be forever
With these reveries in his head
He cast aside all the enmities and fear inside
Looking at that Tiffany & Co Heart shaped diamond
He called her and said to himself
"This is it. I can do this."

Into the room she glides, glowing like an angel descending from heaven
With a questioning expression, exploring him up and down
She asks "Yes my love?"
With the confidence of kings, he kneels before his queen
Before a word slips his mouth, diamond rivers glisten
Streaming down her scarlet cheeks, he reaches out to her hand

*"Sweetheart, I would like to ask for your hand,
Will you be mine forever?"

I think I need to fall in love
with a poet.
So that maybe all the words
and all the hurt won’t always be mine.
I need to fall in love with a poet
so that he will whisper words
that sound better than stories and
don’t need to last as long.
I want to be the one to fall in love
with a poet.
He can make me feel something
so that all the love and the futures
won’t always come from another. And I
will write stories about us
in another world with better lives
where poetry will be sung from
the love, which dies so poetically
and I will know that I loved
a poet.

I am a bug
You are a garden
Just one more hug
And I’m in heaven

I am an island
You are a sea
Leaving me stunned
And no longer empty

I am a comet
You are a star
Missing you’s become a habit
That leaves me with a scar

You are
The whispering of the sea
Crashing anger at violent shores-
Lapping lovingly at lonely rocks.

You are
The affectionate bite,
And pressed tooth on lip. A brutish
But gentle expression of passion.

You are
The soft murmur of uncertainty,
Rustling against soft skin-
A (lost) exhale of heaving breath.

*Your skin and flesh and bones
Are I think not made of
All the same stuff as mine.

   You are water; you're iron;
   You are whistling wind.
   You're the purest sin
   In which I've ever sunk.
