Her heart was like a cold stone,
forged by the hands of hate.
Pain felt like home,
love didn't feel like anything.
Her flesh was her conscience,
her soul feeling numb.
Haunted by her past,
afraid of what is yet to come.
Hooked on all the wrong things,
drunk off the pleasure it brings.
Stuck, looking for love,
in all the wrong places,
Breaking the hearts,
of those handsome faces.
Karma chasing her down,
she practices what she preaches.
Rather be breaking their hearts,
than be picking up the pieces.
Way more than meets the eye,
but, wont let anyone reach it.

This
scared
poor child
with nothing to his name
not even a few dreams
his stomach rumbles
as his mind tumbles
even the hands of time
keep passing him by
so when it comes to a future
he is afraid of the present,
leaving him behind.
Life,
has failed him
society molesting his innocence
polluting it with filter of ignorance
draining him of his faith for humankind
a species that is more a parasite
than it is fair
he is living
but he doesn’t feel alive inside
his heart
replaced by a deep hole in his mind
His heavy eyes lie,  absent of a reply,
he faces this cruel world alone
smoking a joint
he gets high
as he wonders to himself,
Why?

The words
escape me
leaving me
wrapped in turmoil
reeking of defeat, and
bitter with anger.
mad at myself,
believing in failure,
Humbled led by the moment
left terrified of reality.
My heart
filled with craters the size
of disasters
mixed in
with disappointment.
Reminiscent of moments
like this.

We're in a car going twenty too fast on the highway, and I don't know where we're headed.

Maybe the headlights will take us to a home where we've never lived or maybe somewhere where the flames aren't as shallow.

Rain has been beating the windows for at least four hours, and I can almost see lightning through all the cigarette smoke.

He says that he can see clearer than ever.

I swear ever since the radio lost signal, I've basically been able to hear the stardust in every shallow breath he takes.

I can't believe all it took was a broken radio to see him for the kind of words he was meant to be.

The kind that rip apart a person's heart when they finally read them the way they were always meant to be read.

His name is just a noise, and his face is only skin;but the fault lines etched into his bones make me want to believe there are more earthquakes inside him than he thinks.

He makes me want to believe there's something more to life than his fingers wrapping themselves around mine as the car wraps itself around a tree.

Let's make a deal
that the smoke scented
taste of your tongue
will never leave mine.

I knew she was sad --
Not because there were
tears in her eyes
But because there were
Grey clouds in them
Swirling chaos in her mind
Thorns around her throat
Poison in her heart
And a tired smile
On her bleeding lips
And the love she knew
Never thought that
She's really that sad

Our hearts
Are more
Than the
Sum of
Their parts.
I loved you
like crashing waves love the shoreline...

but then the ocean swallowed me up.
