You have my heart,
and every bit of love I have,
to hold and keep forever.
You have my soul,
and ever bit of life I have,
to hold and keep forever.
You have my smile,
and every bit of laughter I have,
to hold and keep forever.
You have my eyes,
and every bit of light I have,
to hold and keep forever.
You have my mind,
and every bit of hope I have,
to hold and keep forever.
You have my body,
and every bit of lust I have,
to hold and keep forever.
You have me,
and every bit of everything I have,
to hold and keep forever.
Forever and always, my love.
Take me somewhere new, I want to explore with you. Let’s go climb a mountain, let’s go jump off cliffs into waterfalls. Take my hand and lead the way, Mr. Adventurer. Let’s sit on a rooftop and make music. You with your guitar and me with my voice. Let’s stay up there so long we watch the sun set and the moon rise. Let’s stargaze, I’ll watch the way they twinkle in your eyes. Take me in your arms, wrapped together in a blanket on June 24th watching the night sky. We can fall asleep together to the sounds of the nearby ocean and wake up at sunrise to the bright clear skies. Hear the birds chirp and see them fly in their V-formation. Let’s just stay here all day, bundled up in each other. Let the hours pass by and eventually we’ll go get some food only to bring it back to the rooftop and watch the townspeople walk to the city and bike to the shore. Let’s go for a run. A run down the beach, stop to feed the pelicans, the one we named Steve. Who are we kidding, we don't know which one is Steve. But after these nights, you do know me. And I surely know you, Mr. Adventurer.
First time writing prose, I hope you guys like it.
Broken shards of coffee glass, french vanilla
Chinese food and a long walk home
Wasn't ready to get on the bus
Got a job than lost it
To a roommate who seduced my one true love until he left
Then he showed up-
A face from the past who loved hockey
And he didn't make me sing about my leather-
He just wanted me to laugh and dance
And reminded me of its vitality
Back to vanilla coffee glass and Chinese
Still not ready to get on the bus
(It's gonna be a long walk home)
Only you can translate
where you are
on your voyage through
this varied farce
called “life”.

No one else can dictate
to you…
or should even dare…
how to phrase
your feelings,
your thoughts,
your personal moments.

Who is anyone to
cause another to feel
inept or inferior
for wording their
experiences as they will?

We are all both
audience and poet,
consumed by the
powerful spell of words
and meaning
we are bonded
in ink.

It takes gumption
and courage
to give voice to
your vision of
the world.

It often requires
resilience and nerve
to open your heart
and peel back the
layers of skin,
and let others take
a long look at the
inner workings of YOU.

Be brave,
take courage,
let your soul speak
in its very own
language.

People will read
your words and
listen to the sweet
whispers
and thunderous shouts
that flow from pens
and keys
to release the
inner demons and angels
and the lyrical
vines that bloom and live
in our individual
landscapes,

fluidly coursing from
our own rabbit holes
with fortitude and grace
and our neverlands,
where we need never
grow up,

to share with those
that need to see
and hear and feel
and wonder.

I am nothing
I can though, be anything
So then
Use me
Make me anything
What you want
What you need
What you crave
What you desire
What you hate
I crave this
So please, just give me this chance to be something
Anything
Use me up and throw me out, there is always someone wanting a disposable pin cushion
There are a trillion stars in the midnight skies
Each one that much more beautiful than the last
Which forced me into this great dilemma you see
As I attempted to find the one that best resembled you
Night after night I would exam the majestic stars
Only to fail time after time again
Not a single one of these stars came close to your angel-like beauty
Not a single star indeed
For you see there is no star that can shine as bright as you
Then I began to think about how fascinating it was to live in galaxy full a trillion stars
Which made me think of you
You're so beautiful you remind me of our galaxy the Milkey Way
That's right there is no SINGLE star that is close to you
But there is a trillion who comes close
