Causing
These reactions I can't hide
Reactions of neuropeptides
Cascading in my electric mind
Causing me to be compassionate and kind.

Sad? Don’t eat.
Upset? Grab a drink.
Hell, do both
And try not to think.

Stay up late? Work in 2 hours.
Angry? Get laid.
Do whatever it takes
To get yourself paid.

But in the end, don’t worry about me.
This too will pass, because I want to be free.

One Year

Delaney
But how many days in this past year
have I cried over what you did to me?
How many nightmares have left me breathless,
grasping for a light, and for restful sleep?
Tell me, how many flashbacks have haunted my memory?
Do you even know the multitude of conflicts
that you forced upon me?
Do you realize the significance of your thoughtless actions?

I bet you don't.
But I sure as hell do.

Today is the one year anniversary of the day I was *****. I'm still living in hell.

There's a fine line between loneliness and poetry
Loneliness makes you write a poem
A poem makes you lonely

She
She's not just "a girl you know"
or someone you see on the streets.
Above anything, she's a dream
a gift
a miracle
every inch of her is a universe
you'd have trouble trying to define.
Tell her you love her
only if you really do,
if not then leave her alone.
You can try to fool her
but you should know
you're the one to fall down
in the end.
