That person who gets you, lifts you
As the stone that fits your hand does
Who loves you as the stone from your hand
Skims out across the sea, loves you so
Many times more
Than you can count
That
Person

Whose love seems older than the stone
Smoother than its perfect roundness
Whose eyes seem deeper than the sea
During the endless time your eyes
Meet. And the feeling

In your heart
Of that stone
That oldest
Perfect
Love

Skimming light, skimming fast
Skimming away
Away

As it fades
As it

Fades

The night they shot Dr King, Stokely Carmichael  pulled the pin out from the grenade in his heart and made ******* sure the world knew he and his brothers would never be weak again,

The night they shot Malcolm X, the liberals shook their heads, clicking tongues about how "violence begets violence", and sometime later they put his face on a stamp, taught his corpse to dance, taught their children that this is the fate of a man who never gives up trying to change the world

The night that Missouri burned down they sent in the tanks, steel goliaths prowled small town streets looking for anybody black, or angry, or conscious, or any combination of the three, and every time their guns went off a new revolutionary was born in rage and desperation

Who are your comrades gonna be when the cops kick down the door?
Who are your comrades gonna be when the drug raids come?
Who are your comrades gonna be when the crowd control rounds turn to live ammunition?
Who are your comrades gonna be when the talking heads condemn the martyrs to hell on a twenty four hour newsreel?
Who are your comrades gonna be when the streets split open and the riot swallows everything in its wake?
Who are your comrades gonna be when the prisons crumble brick by brick?
Who are your comrades gonna be when it all burns down?
Who are your comrades gonna be when we rebuild this world from the ground up into something beautiful?

When they tell you, "Do not resist"
Resist
When they tell you, "Your methods are too extreme"
Tell them, "By any means necessary"
When they tell you, "This is the way things are"
Change. Everything.
When they tell you, "You can't change the world alone"
Tell them, "Solidarity, forever"

We are driving into the setting sun and soon we'll be close enough to feel the heat, and for some reason I've sped towards it as though there were a prize awaiting like I was chasing rainbows. There have yet to be enough hands and lips and words not enough feeling to feel complete, the sun cannot set before I feel the warmth of something other than the beach days that I can collect like sand bleeding through my fingers. There is no breaking or stalling just breathing and moving and I want, no need, to feel his breath and memorize his movements and not just imagine but live the life I want. We are driving into the sunset! There is no more time to push things off until tomorrow, no time to wait until later to write to postpone watering my ideas and imaginations. No time for uncertainty. Everyday is passing like a flip book until there are no pages left and I don't want to be alone, I refuse to be alone, I believe in karma and the universe and I pray that my life will be worth the beautiful sunset at the end and until then I have to make it happen, we are driving into the setting sun and when it warms my skin I want the warmest part of me to be my heart, full of the good I have done and everything I accomplished.
Her blue hips carry me into her womb,
where the melody of her crashing waves sound like the notes of an ethereal harp dancing through the chilled evening air.
Among all the lost messages in glass bottles floating through a liquid eternity, one read the name of her lover,
who ripped her heart from the sea.
Eventually, each bottle washed up into the arms the shore,
Yet,
The bottle that contained her lover’s name remained in the curves of the ocean, traveling through her body's maze.

My heart breaks at the sound of her faint, musical wheeping.
So I am with her, within her cold, salted embrace.
Submerged,
I open my burning eyes to watch her story.
I love the way her current cradles me with aching love-
And now I can see
That the strength within her current,
Can wash away the grief of a fractured heart.

he takes me in
with a long drag
while he lights me up
and just when
i'm on fire
he puts me out
with his sole
and leaves me
smoldering
next to his empty
beer bottle.

Tryst
If it were I, a hunkered mass
Of unkempt hair and tangled rags,
Lain prone beneath the underpass,
Enclaved in chattel bulked-out bags,

If it were I, alone, afraid,
Tight-bitten lips in silent prayer,
And listless eyes, all hope decayed,
And slumped, oppressed, done by despair,

And if you cast my shadowed shape,
Would you come seek my name?
Or look as I for quick escape,
And thence to bear my shame.

she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt,
"lie to me again."
she whispered although
her heart ached to hear his response.

"i love you."
he replied
without any remorse.
