When you are silent
when you are mind hunting
I too shall be silent
and help you hold back the wolves
For a moment,
We were both here.

Some part of me knew when you arrived.
The sun burned a little hotter, the moon lingered a little closer;
Flowers seemed to point in your direction.
I could feel the wind change its course whenever you laughed.
But while you swam through clouds and crowds
I could only watch from afar as I had to push past the forces
That pulled every part of me to where you were.
But you were here. And that was enough for me.

How funny that the streets I can trace like veins in my body,
Were so new to you, strangers to your eyes.
But for that single, fleeting moment,
You walked through them, not minding the newness of scenery,
Leaving your trace with every sneakered footstep.
I hope the city held you like I would.

My language must have tasted different on your tongue.
The words were as foreign in your eyes as yours were in mine.
For the first time, I could see your fingertips piercing through the barrier,
And God knows how close I was to connecting mine with yours.

Our stories were finally synced,
Finally on the same page.
I didn't mind that I was one word in your book
And you were a whole chapter in mine,
I was just fine with being any part of your story;
Even just for a moment, even if I wouldn't be a part of it again.

Now you are there.
And I am still here.
But I look for you in every thing I see,
Wondering if you saw the same.

And then, you are here again.
But just for a moment.
for l.c.

you may be a foreigner in my world,
but no stranger to my heart.
come crashing down
through darkness
into sight
a permanent marker
sharpie stuck in your eye
black all you see
negatives hung on the walls
charcoal reliefs
of those you knew
paragraphs of sadness
posted to your wall in pencil
on sheets of paper

ashtrays filled with ashes
trash cans with beer cans
and the day begins
thinking of when it will end
making breath and striving
just to make it
until
you see the moon beckons again

Some things are meant to last forever
Some things are meant to fade
Some things are meant to never happen
Some things are meant to change
Some things are meant to make you strong
Some things are just strange
Tu Chaahe, Tu Chaahe, Ya Na,
(Whether you wish or don’t,)
Main Jiyunga, Haan Main, Jiyunga.
(I will live, yes I will.)

Jeewan Ka Har Maza,
(Each fun of life,)
Main Ji Bhar Ke Lutaunga,
(I will enjoy wholly,)
Tune Diya Hai Jo Dand,
(The punishment which you have given,)
Main Karunga Ise Bhang.
(I will dismiss it.)
Tu Chaahe, Tu Chaahe, Ya Na,
(Whether you wish or don’t,)
Main Jiyunga, Haan Main, Jiyunga.
(I will live, yes I will.)

Tu Chaahe, Tu Chaahe, Ya Na,
(Whether you wish or don’t,)
Main Kab Jiyunga, Kab Main Jiyunga.
(When will I live, When will I live.)
Jeewan Mein Kya Maza,
(What fun life would be,)
Bin Tere Jo Bitaunga.
(If at all I stop believing in you.)

Woh Jeena Kya Jeena,
(Would that be a life at all,)
Har Pal ** Jab Saza!
(When each moment I spend is a punishment!)

To Tu Chhaaja, Haan Tu Chhaaja,
(So be the shade over me, yes please,)
Main Phir Jiyunga, Haan Main Jiyunga.
(I will live again, yes I will.)
Tu Chhaaja, Haan Tu Chhaaja,
(Be the shade over me, yes please,)
Phir Main Jiyunga, Haan Main, Jiyunga. (And then I’ll live again.)
The lyrics to my Tu Chaahe song

Modification to an original composition called 'Tu Aaye' by me.

I made this modification after my life threatening accident.
