A poem a day may not keep the doctor away, but it may keep the Psychiatrist at bay
Writing is very therapeutic and so is reading poems at least for me!
Opportunity may knock, but trouble hangs out at the door.
I  say this is true at least for me, I had my share of trouble recently a drunk neighbor was hanging out at my door and was harassing me until I got the police and management involved.
Hey Princess my name is Han, I picture us together in a Galaxy Far Far Away
I  promise you adventure to say the least
I'm not saying the courtship will be all filled with peace
I will fly you in a spaceship which is very nice
I hope you are able to withstand some strife
I have to let you know  that I have a kind of pet he is quite unique
He is a Wookie  you may in fact rather kiss him than me
If my mannerisms get under your skin
I feel I should warn you about the competition that is interested in You
I heard about a fat ugly guy named Jabba The Hut, he might even want to imprison you
Well I heard you once were interested in your brother, I am willing to overlook that fact
I can tell you that dating me is not boring to say the least
We will fight against The Empire and you will get to meet many Jedi Knights
You and I together will have to dodge fire from Storm trooper  guns
Not to mention the dictator Darth Vader wants to **** both me and you
I will let you know if this don't appeal to you or sound like to much fun
You could date a certain doctor named DR. Who and see were he and his Tardis might take you.
This is dedicated to some friends of mine who are big science fiction fans, and my daughter who likes DR. Who
I also give credit to George Lucas who created the Star Wars films and Whoever created DR. Who
I signed  up  one of my socks for Match.com because it was missing it's match, after doing laundry.
I hate it when that happens
I hope it will find it's match and that they will make a perfect pair.
I swear the washing machine gets hungry and eats socks
I hope you enjoy this comic relief, I wrote.
One day an old man was walking down a beach and He say a little boy picking up starfish that had washed up on the shore,
He came up to the little boy and told him "You can't possibly save all those Starfish" The little boy picked up a starfish and threw it back in the ocean and said" For this one I made all the difference"
I am sharing a story I heard some years ago this is Ad lib to the best of  my memories.
My friend's if you feel like you don't make a difference , or feel discouraged your poems don't get many views, keep in mind if they reach even one person they can make a difference.
Never Give Up!
I tried writing my words in the sand for all to see
Imagine my surprise when right before my eyes it got swept away by the tide of the river in front of me
I then tried to send a message in a bottle the bottle quickly got crushed and the paper turned to mush
I must have rushed and not planed to carefully
I later tried to write something on a stone, it felt good to hold ever so carefully, despite my best plans it slipped through my hands; and landed with too many other similar stones and blended in and I could not retrieve it again
I could have let discouragement win, but I thought I should try it again, because I really wanted to share this message
I tried once more and carefully explored my surroundings
I suddenly saw a big rock I had to trend some water to get there
I carefully took stock in whether or not this rock would do to display the message , and would it be worthwhile
I smiled as I observed that it was solid and could not be  moved by the tides: it had a  firm foundation so firm in fact that it could support my weight
The son shined on it creating warmth and I felt a sense of peace, I felt a release from the struggle of moments before; the words were clearly illuminated by the suns light on the words displayed  like lighting the way for those who would receive the message; and it was good.
This poem idea came to me at about 4 am, when unsuccessfully trying to sleep so I got up and jotted it down, then decided to post it.
I hope you like it my hello poetry friends and that it may inspire you.
Sometimes I write and it feels right to share for many eyes to see. and it is fun to share
Other times the words do not seem to come out alright or it feels
to personal to me
Those times I'm Ok with writing and not fighting the feelings: even if it is just for an audience of one
I am searching for something long lasting in this disposable world.
We have instant messages and fast food.
we are lacking things that are longer lasting things are made of cheap plastic , not anything fantastic or made to last.
Our friendship's can be too quickly pushed aside or become like strangers when the tide comes in.
When will we want something more permanent
When will we hold onto something more lasting, instead of things like cheap plastic and the disposable.
We need to hang on and hold on to what is worthwhile and not what can just be bought.
It is just a cheap Imitation and is just disposable.
It is time to reach for what is real and tell your Loved ones how you feel.
I was just thinking about the state of things in this world compared to what is truly important.
Facebook instead of face to face
No picture can take your place
No amount of pokes will do
I just long to see you
I desire to see you face to face
I want to see your smile, hear your voice
It is my choice, Facebook alone will not do
I wait for the time that I can see you again, face to face
I repeat Facebook alone will not do
I really want to be with you!
I am an optimist but under stress I am Pessimistic
