There was a time
when music meant
more than the
heartbeat in my chest

Through its veins
flowed notes of great inspiration

The heart raced to the rhythms , escalating elations

The spirit soared in explosions of glory and verbal fireworks awed

The vibrations tingled the
chill of skin

Who would have believed it could feel so great within

That was this , that was then
Ah, those popular wishes of
giving the fat a trim
Beauty is now the
monopoly of the slim!

Sinuous and slender
The hourglass figure
The thinner, the better.

Dieting and slimming
down tricks
of course selling like hot
cakes

Tis a pity, she can't eat to
her heart's content and
desire
for rounded figures they
no longer admire.

But as long as
scrumptious samosas
keep frying in pans
and delicious pizzas
keep baking in 'em' ovens
it'd be hard to keep the
****** calorie count
or to live in fear of the
expanding waistline
mount.

Ah, those mouth-
watering deep-fried
kebabs
are entirely to blame for
my yo-yo dieting!

Gosh to cut down on
cheese and butter slab
is one tough way to get
rid of body flab.

This war against weight
is weighing upon her
mind,
instead of being simply
chubby and straight
We gotta maintain teen
contours and curves we
find!

You do know this is a
war you've got to be
winning.
It's those extra pounds
and not the war you
have to be losing.
Or the other skinny
lasses will be smirking,
grinning.

Ah, but all young ladies
must as well beware:
Dragoness Anorexia's
engulfing lair
or how her crony Bulimia
too can ensnare!

So pals better be about ill-
health more cautious
rather than being overly
so weight-conscious. :)

You can be loved despite your plump weight

I've seen many a curvy plus size woman

admired and adored by her soulmate.

So dears don't overeat or starve yourself
You don't have to be a tiny elfin fairy or elf.

For shadows are most
Inhospitable hosts
When you revel in devils
And settle for ghosts
You will always see evil
Subsuming the good
And consumed in delusion
Forgetting it could
All quite possibly,
Nay
Almost certainly be
All contained in your head
A threadbare

Prelude of light
The sublimation hour

In this ruined house
Before meaning comes

(The world is full of
Abandoned meanings)

A slight grip, a gentle hold
And the trembling of glass

Circles of privacy
To shine, to hide, to cross

From the only window
Burning sanctuary
Heaven come crashing
The thicket is no sacred grove:

A chronicle of early failures
But within reach
Of future mistakes

Even the darkness has arms

the parking used to be free
but now everyone has to pay
and pay and pay
ain't it just like that
and ain't it just like diversity

it was a sunny day
the guy selling mushrooms seemed very knowledgeable about his impressive variety of mushrooms, the kind you couldn't find in most supermarkets

the 79 year old man
with congestive heart failure
who had spent his life loving the Lord
and doing right by his family and fellow man
bought a $4 head of cauliflower and three ears of corn
at a dollar a husk

the cauliflower had brown spots on it
the corn husks were dried out and had brown and black spots on them
his daughter said he probably shouldn't buy them, they didn't look fresh

the lady from the third world country put in a bag for him and accepted his money after assuring him it was fresh

cherries were selling for $7 a pound

the man selling mushrooms had a nice variety and knew a lot about mushrooms

there was another stall
the crafts were probably made in chinese factory

the 79 year old man was enjoying the sunny day
as he stood in line to buy a latte for his sick wife
who he took care of

the coffee truck swayed back and forth
as the two young ladies of size
took orders, accepted cash
and made the drinks

the twelve ounce latte was $7
they also had an assortment of blended non-coffee choices
between $7 and $15 dollars

he gave them the $7 and stood with the rest of people
waiting for their $20 drinks to be made
as the coffee truck kept on swaying back and forth

the corn and cauliflower could have been purchased
at a discount grocer that sold old produce
but the third world women working the stall were from the third world country so no one questioned anything

as they happily waited in line after line for $50 cups of coffee
holding their brownly spotted and packed produce

a lower income family walked up the coffee truck and spent $100 on drinks for 4 people

when the 79 year old man with congestive heart failure who saw the best in everyone
and had spent his life doing right by the Lord, his family, and his fellow man returned home, he gave the $7 latte to his sickly, invalid wife.
his daughter shucked the brownly spotted and packed corn
the corn was dried out on the inside.

it was a sunny day.
A mother sobbing,
a raging mob.
What we need is people
to do their job.
A cop stands still
amidst the crowd.
To **** or…be killed?
His head is bowed.
Lock the door and
set the alarm.
So simple a task
to keep some from harm.
Collecting a paycheck,
is easy to do.
But there’s a lot more
we expect of you.
By the time that you
become a grown up
you should have learned
it’s important to show up.
Most of the world's problems would be solved if people just did their jobs.
Exodus 32:11-14
But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God. “LORD,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to **** them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people. Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’ ”
Then the LORD relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.

Thinking about the finite speaking to the Infinite,
The imperfect to the Perfect,
The chosen to the Chooser,
The creation to the Creator,
The human dialog with the Almighty.

Did a man change the course of Doom,
Move Heaven on behalf of earth through "prayer"?
Dialog. God. Man. Changing the Mind and Course of Eternity....
I have become a ten-toed dabbler
Meanderer intentional sampling delights
Finder of mundane pleasures
Thankful for sound and sight, taste and touch,
Overcome by the newness of scents

I intend to be the finder of earthly heaven,
A barefoot walker of beaches
Collector of shells, sunsets, sensations
The crust of salt and sand and shells
Between my happy toes.

Relief settles slowly upon me
Covid come and gone, come and gone
Taste and smell returned
Lungs strong and pulling, pushing air,
Awareness of the preciousness of living.

I stop for the pleasure of roses, of rain, of radishes.
Thank Heaven for a taste of juniper, mint, basil,
Cantaloupe, berries of all kinds....
Covid gone, I am here to stay, if only for today.

I'm out, about, and on my way.
