Love poem
Never read
In a letter
Never sent.

Self-inflicted torment.

Waiting in my memory
Its gentle waves are calling me
For I was cut from eroding shore
To oceans edge for evermore

Never a sight had crossed my eyes
So vast a nexus, land and sky
and sea. Transfixed so there I stood
In briny sand and drifting wood

While still, each visage yet untamed,
Each piece of wood, not one the same.
To touch them all, I sought to soothe
With salted kisses, lay them smooth

There among the writhing forms
I walked barefoot and weather worn
While each piece begged my presence stay,
Another hurried me on my way

What could quench this thirsting gaze,
Lo, is all for destination’s sake?
I beg for but a moment longer,
for all these twisting paths to ponder

I too am driftwood on the beach
A wilting flower within your reach
One day You’ll have me by Your side
and unbury my waiting rings of time.
Thanks for reminders Will (W L Winter) - one of my favorite poets here.

They said find what you love,
And let it **** you.
So when I found the man
Who made flowers grow
In my charred lungs,
I let them suffocate me.

I am in love,
My dear,
With a moment
We never had.
I marvel,
My dear,
At the possibilities
In our future.
I dream,
My dear,
Of the day we lie
Side by side.
I hope,
My dear,
For our night,
All in white.
I know,
My dear,
I'll dance in your arms
Some beautiful night.

When the curtain draws closed on my mind
And leaves my body alone.
Think of the times we were together,
The times we talked on the phone.
———————————
Remember the times we would walk on the beach.
Hand in hand always in reach.
The moments we shared - together each day.
The love we shared in every way.

Though the hours get long that make up a day.
While you are sitting with me in your caring way.
Remember the times we would take a long walk.
We would get an ice cream, just sit and talk.
Remember. Remember for me.
——————————–
Remember the seasons of flowers in bloom.
We’d walk through the meadow, nature’s room.
We’d hunt down asparagus along a fence row.
Bring home a bunch and fix it just so.

Remember at Christmas the lights on the tree.
The gifts for the children from you and me.
The smells of the season that filled the air.
The laughter and joy of people who care.
Remember. Remember for me.
———————————–
Remember the moments our thoughts would blend.
No spoken word between us would send.
The thoughts of love and things to be.
Would cross the distance ‘tween you and me.

Tell me over and over again,
Of the things we use to do and when,
Times of laughter and times of fun
We had together, under the sun.
Remember. Remember for me.
—————————–
When the curtain draws closed on my mind.
And leaves my body alone.
Think of the times we were together,
The times we talked on the phone.

As yesterday’s memories caress your soul.
Close your eyes, imagine us whole.
Where some day we will be together again
Where memories won’t fade, we will again begin.
Remember. Remember for me.

You took me places I loved.
You took me places I admired.
You took me places I'd never visit again.

You took me places..
You took me places....
You took me.....
*You took me to your heart. The place I'd never be able to visit again.
This is inspired by the poem written by musika.
You always do make lovely poems.

I want to travel the world
And make love in every country
Where I'd forgo each beautiful sight
Just to stare into your eyes.
I wanted to follow the stars
To a different home each night
But you've tamed my gypsy heart
And now the north star leads me to you.
You've caused roots to grow
On my once wondering feet
Til I was planted in front of you,
So happily stuck.
Flowers have begun to sprout
On every centimeter of skin
That you've caressed,
Each more beautiful than the last.
You've made me yours my dear,
Without asking.
And I've agreed,
Without telling.

For the first time I am breathless,
Heart pounding in your presence.
For the first time my eyes are glued,
To this love I cannot elude.
For the first time I overlook the danger
Of falling for a perfect stranger.
For the first time I am lost,
And as a lover my stars are crossed.
For the first time I am in love,
Cause you're more than I've dreamed of.
For the first time my dear,
I am complete.

Is there something wrong with me?
I meet a lot of people,
and it seems to be going okay

But then for some reason,
I always end up feeling like an outsider.

He
He was art incarnate.
Flowers grew where he walked.
He looked like fate,
And just like fate, he knocked.
He had stars in his eyes.
His voice dripped with gold.
He was temptation in disguise,
And my temptation couldn't be controlled.
He was a beautiful mystery.
His smile outshone the sun.
He was destiny,
And with him my destiny had begun.
He was an adventure.
He was all but iridescent.
His beauty was uncensored,
And his beauty was my torment.
He was nothing short of magic.
His laugh was musical.
He was timelessly classic,
And like the classics, beautiful.
