When I feel alone
Emptiness hovers around
Till I loose all my doubts
Mysteries, emerge around

Alone is not always dark
I still have my secrets
To remember, to allude
Put it in the light of truth

And secrets are kept from many
Its lonely appreciation
Its special connotation
A companion, never mentioned

Secrets,  secret secretion
If I would tell a secret
To one's soul
It's like stealing my own

We are the ones who feel
almost everything.

Squeezed like sun-warmed
wine grapes, pressed
like fragrant coffee beans,
distilled like kilos of flowers,
may these memories of our lives
become good poems.
To you, my new family, here in this international place for poets, and always, to Eliot York, for building it.

Life is not a spectator sport
If an injustice bothers you
don't just sit on the sidelines
take action

If you want to see changes in the world
don't just wait for others to act take the first step
yourself

Don't wait too long
You don't want to die
wishing that you had done more
that if only you had truly lived
and made an impact on others
living selflessly
instead of selfishly

Hero's are often found in ordinary people
who have the courage to do
seemly extraordinary things
We all have the same potential to take action
to preserve our basic human rights and the rights
of those around us and the potential to make a Global impact
If you observe discrimination  and injustice
don't simply be a bystander
instead take action
By not taking action you are being part of the problem
instead of the solution
If you are not sure what to do
talk to a trustworthy person that can help you
if you need to make a formal complaint
muster up the courage to do so
You may discover that you are stronger
than you thought you were
more courageous than you believed yourself
to be
Make a difference the world is counting on you
the first step in making a chance is often taking
action locally
Now is the time to make a positive change
if you have not started already
You may inspire others to take action
but don't wait for others
Make your first step today
even a marathon starts with a first step .......
I recently had to make a stand against some discrimination and injustice that I recently observed. I am not a hero but I did not feel like I could just be a bystander but instead talked with people about how I could make a statement in the hopes of making a positive change and hopefully in the long run make a difference.

If I can touch the heart and inmost soul
Of just one doubting anxious questing mind,
Responding to the most impassioned call
Of question marks that remain undefined,
Then may my sadly feeble efforts be
Rewarded without danger of rebuff
And my own inner doubts allowed to flee,
As touching just one soul would be enough.
If I have brought the monstrous regiment
Of hidden doubt or even abject fear
To bitter rage or hate or merriment,
Then would I count the cost to me less dear.
And finally what held me in distress
Would be resolved into unworthy bliss.
For an article posted by me on Linked In's Teaching  Poetry group, I used my poem A Poet's Supplication to illustrate the difference between the informal type of rhyming verse and the more formal, rigid rules that apply to, e.g. sonnets, by converting it into a sonnet.

frustrations.....we all have em....when 3-fold applications of doubt surround my fate, words I've found they bring me peace and light.... the weight we carry lighten ...the cloud of gloom dissipated.
we all have weights......a cross to bear,
we all have our sorrows........while it varies in dimensions...the color of grief is common to us all.....

*"Be still, my soul; Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain ...

Can you believe it!
I'm in your head, you are reading my very thoughts
Somehow my energy has crossed paths, with you
This isn't a theory you seeing this is proof, its true
Imagine the power in this connection
from fingers on a keyboard
to affecting a reality
close or far from me
Imagine if we used this power for love
We could all be one...
haha let me stop getting sappy
And just enjoy the connection we made and be happy :)

To the tune of "Telling My Most Intimate Feelings"

When night comes,
I am so flushed with wine,
I undo my hair slowly:
a plum calyx is
stuck on a damaged branch.
I wake dazed when smoke
breaks my spring sleep.
The dream distant,
so very distant;
and it is quiet, so very quiet.
The moon spins and spins.
The kingfisher blinds are drawn;
and yet I rub the injured bud,
and yet I twist in my fingers this fragrance,
and yet I possess these moments of time!

Eniledam Where
Underneath me, something's seething
I can feel your face with my eyes and I'm happy
But usually, something's seething
It tastes a little bit like breathing
It's being
In and out I feel it
Close to my heart and my lungs and my head
And even when I peek externally instead, I see it.
It's fleeting, but it's breathing
Who will deny their body
Many do many do I know many do
But it's over
Now it's the end
The eclipse
The dawn will never come again

In the meantime

I'm seething
Waiting for a chance to peel back my eyelids and
Touch the sky
With every eye

I'm seeing
I'm breathing
I'm being

In only minutes, surging wind brought rain, then pounding hail into this verdant canyon. The mountain disappeared into the mist, and in its place the full arc of a brightening rainbow. Almost as quickly, the mountain's face reappeared, while more rain poured down, now through brilliant sunlight. The rainbow remains, plunging its feet into the very roots of the valley.
