High above the Holy River Ganges
where the water flows like Brahman itself,
is an ancient cave, a place of sacred pilgrimage.

Entering silently, our small gathering
sat together, meditating here where the great
sage himself transcended in deep samadhi.

Wrapped in warm shawls, dhotis and saris,
eyes closed gently in the stony half-light.

Early hours had seen us awake, readying
for this auspicious day, and the sleepiness
of a little child began to overtake me.

With that same innocence, a childlike feeling,
I curled down into a woolen bundle, asleep
in the inner depths of that holy, dark place.

Sleep was sleep, and not sleep,
as awareness shone within me.

Limitless akasha unfolded inside me now,
and the ground where I rested expanded
into that same unbounded, cosmic space.

From far beneath the cool, damp earth,
a radiance travelled into my small frame.

Renewing energy suffused and blessed me.

Bowing in my heart, I touch the lotus feet
of Maharishi Vashistha. His darshan
shines on into our present day, and
throughout all of Ved Bhumi Bharat.

In the midst of nothing, you bring babies into life.
In the midst of sorrow, you bring out of me Joy.
In the midst of being broke, you give me wealth.
In the midst of pain, you give unto me healing.
For you are the Living Word, you speak life.
Into situations, people, and you give life to us all.
When we are feeling dead or empty inside ourselves.
We draw close to you repent and ask you for healing.
Then you begin speaking Life in to each of your people.
For you are the Living Word, whom speak life into us.

In the summer of 1988 my brother and I found something in our grandmothers backyard.  It was a very hot summer that year and little rain had graced the very parched yellow grass.  However there was one small area where the grass stayed green.  It was there my brother and I had found The indestructuable circular object.   It was made of some kind of glass and would emit small patterns of light.  We kept it a secret from everyone.
We took it everywhere with us.  One day we decided to take it to the lake with us.  We were going to use it much like a magnifying glass and wanted look at all the insects and plants.   We then came upon a dead bird first.  We used the circular object to look deep into the feathers of the dead bird.  Many lights begin to shine within in the object.   It then almost seem to wrap around the bird in an instant.  The birds wings started to flap!  It then flew into the trees and begin to sing.
The indestructuable circular object lay there on the ground shining like a small sun.  My brother and I were in awe at what we just saw.  It now made sense on why the grass was green on where it sat at my grandmothers house.  Whatever this thing was it seem to give life.  We decided to test it on everything around us!  We picked up a dead leaf and held it close to the circular object.  It shined yet again and the leaf turned green!  We used it on a stick, and then a dead grasshopper.  All of which came back to life!
The evening slowly painted the day away.  We made our way home. We both lay in bed staring at the amazing indestructuable circular object.  It would let out small sprites of light here and there.  We couldnt wait to use it tomorrow!  In the middle of the night we awoke to the circular object doing some sort of strange hum.  It did it for about thirty seconds and then seem to quiet down.
The morning had come and we were out the door at first light.  My brother remembered seeing a dead cat on the road a block away.  This was going to be a bigger test!  The cat had been hit by a car. I was a bit scared to try it on the cat. What if it came back looking the way it did after the car hit him!  We but the object near the cat and it shined brighter than ever before!   There was even a strange sound coming out of it!

been pecking the pole since the forties

we think,

how delightful.

yet it must be changed and moved

in case it falls down, what would we

do then?  he asked.

i decided not to think about that, and

rejoice in the creosote

of the new thing.

may be the woodpecker will

too?

I look past my reflection in the mirror;
whale-sized thighs, and
arms too big for the oceans
rain pours down like sharp daggers
into my flesh, and I’m tired
teeth hurt, and I’m tired
heart pounding, and I’m tired
my mermaid waves leave my head like
an old porcelain doll, dying
and I’m tired
I teach my body how to stop needing,
in with the calories, and I’m tired
out with the calories, and I’m really tired
silent screams echo at the fake reflection
that stares blindly through the broken
mirrors
**** me up, I’m seeing stars tonight
bones aching, and I’m smiling
bullets to the head, and I’m smiling
painstakingly dancing through the night
till I’m void of nothing,
they say empty is beautiful, and I want
so dearly to feel beautiful
calories scattered on the floor, like the
those scattered thoughts of everything
I used to be
and everything I am now
scatterbrain, tell me how you feel
when your insides are void of
self-love
you eat hatred for breakfast
and spit self-pity into your toilet
tell me again, silly girl,
do you feel beautiful now?

you left your imprint
on mother earth herself
in our hearts you left your voice
you gifted us with melodies
of most valuable wealth
charismatic grace across the stage
you never did it for fame
originality legendary perfection
spiritual soulful being of peace
from the very first note we heard
music hasn't been the same since
others may have had their King
but we had our Prince
humbled at the idea
success doesn't mean it's over
and openly giving your life to Jehovah
doing good deeds behind the scenes
you were careful and serene
artist first, entertainer came next
you never disappointed the world
until the day you left

and here we all join hands and reminisce
oh the years you got us through
joy, love, hurt, progression
defeating the evils of the industry
giving us hope in oppression
and as we watch the doves cry
we wipe our tears too
how much you're adored
if you only knew
the thunder rolls and we feel the first drops begin to fall
it doesn't erase the emptiness one bit
but it brings us to a crawl
you never meant to cause us any sorrow
you never meant to cause us any pain
so we will be here
bathing in the Purple Rain.

We love you forever Prince Rogers Nelson.
Prince has been one of my biggest inspirations for my entire life. I have been absolutely devastated at this loss. I wish I had better words. Rest sweet spirit you. Thank-you for all you have done.

Sometimes it
Takes a
Cut or
A burn
To remember
It's reality
Around the
Corner
Making way
To your turn,
Making way
To your
Urn,
As actuality
Hit's you-
The saying
(Ashes to ashes)
(Dust to dust)
Though after
I remember that
Line--- I remember again
Our bodies are just crab shell's
For the crux
Inside of us.

stone the bear
Where you see weeds,
I see blooming trees.
Old flowers,
new leaves.

Buried by drifts of snow,
yet something beckons them to grow.

The transforming seed
stretches
with a desire to breathe.

What do you see?
Grave of the dead?
or tomorrow’s flower bed?

Death comes
and death goes,
yet the crazy daisy’s
wild roots never froze.

Somewhere, within her,
the plan was already seeded.
The simple truth?
The light was all she really needed.

This law paralyzed her with desire,
to see nothing but nature’s unseen fire.

She laid and she wait
as the bitter winds blew.
But in all of the darkness,
nothing from her grew.

Do you believe in time and in fate?
She pondered as she lay and wait.

In her shell, she is saved.
What lays beyond, may leave her graved.

Is there such a thing as better tomorrows?
She wallows,
wading,
in the mud of her endless sorrows.

She did not,
could not,
fully understand:
the price that must be paid
in order to be grand.

As a seed,
she thought she knew.
She had something left,
yet to do.

It required her break to her very core,
in the hopes of be coming some thing far more.

She emerged from her old,
cold,
worn shell,
seeking the warmth and comfort
of a new place to dwell.

She must give one last, epic fight.
Squaring off,
this time, on the side of sunlight.

"Make like a bandit
and run from your cell!
Never look back
and you’ll never fail."

She solely set sight
on its’ captivating rays.
Gleaming and unfolding
to enjoy the beautiful days.

In this attempt,
her core begin to extend.
Allowing her to appreciate,
and bask in all the sun had to send.

Standing tall and growing crazed,
she basks in the fragrance of the cold, passing days.

She heard all the stories
every leaf had to tell.
Even if it was true,
that to their grave
they eventually fell.

She tried with all her might.
The seed saw it through.
With diligence and perseverance,
so could you.

Although at times,
I know it’s difficult to see.
When going through a change,
the truth will eventually set you free.
{even if it feels a little strange}
When these changes do arise,
there’s always a brighter side.
Your time in darkness makes you wise,
if you choose to enjoy the ride.

You are the delicate flower.
Take your time,
to truly understand
your heart’s eternal fire,
buried deep under the sand.

Then set foot to build your tower,
to match your own deeply rooted desires.

Become the beautiful
delicate
flower.

*

But nonetheless,
The seasons will change,

Always remember, September,
and there must always be December,
along with many April’s rains.

And as the seed,
before it can bloom;
you as well,
will see many
hours of gloom.

Sickly sliding slimy claws around your heart
Your breath comes in desperate pants hot and fast
You hope this panic will end, but know you cannot last
For anxiety is desperate to become your soul companion
Did there a shadow move
a stealthy feet
upon darkening bush?

The deer's woof
races heartbeat
before silence
closes like noose.

Will the pool
that beams the moon
draw a trunk
to the lure of cool?

And upon the wind
without a word
was it a streak
of a passing leopard?

The peacock cries
you're close to the ground
presence is aloud
in the slightest sound.

The jungle glows
in silver light
there are eyes
that spot you right.
