The hair that falls so beautifully and balanced,
Perfectly placed.

Those eyes glistening like glittering glass,
Singing a million songs with just a glance.

Your lips so graceful and elegant,
Prettily poised.

But you don't see the reality of it,
Your flaws.

The hair too fluffy and light,
Poison it with paste.

Tear filled eyes shattered and broken,
The sound of pain and upset.

Lips cold and dry, barely moving,
Soulless and still.

Red lips and piercing white teeth aren't who she is.
It's a façade for the sad girl inside,
It's the hurt she's had before,
She does not mean to mislead.

Flawless skin with subtle pink cheeks isn't who she is.
It's a façade for the imperfect girl inside,
It's the wish for innocent youth,
She does not mean to mislead.

Bold eyes with the pretty colour isn't who she is.
It's a façade for all she's looked through,
It's the hope of decency,
She does not mean to mislead.

Short dress with killer heels isn't who she is.
She dresses for herself, not others.
She dresses for her confidence.
But you took that from her,
With your needs and desires.
She did not mislead, you assumed.

Sometimes you do not
Need to 'look' or 'be good' but
Simply look and be.

So tell me once again,
Why is it that we love,
Yet refuse to receive
The love that we deserve?

From our inner feelings
To our outer beings
A love should not have to
Search deep for revealing.

If in doubt about why
You are deserving of
Friends appreciation
Just look inside your heart.

You are special
You deserve
All the love
That you get.

Blue braces
Fast paces
New faces
Mind races
Dark places
Cold spaces
Hard embraces
No traces.

I don't quite know how
You manage to make me feel
As loved as you do.
