For days I'm forced to travel with a mind full of sorrows to call my own,
Through the night I choose to linger with a spirit full of eager and hopefulness to journey home, I'll journey home

The danger is in my hands.
the danger is at the end of my cigarette.
the danger is in my head,
the thought am I better off dead

For years I've walked in shadows,  like a wise man I chose to follow the setting sun through the great unknown
I've never been scared of death, but now as it slightly burns and haunts my breath I have a new respect for life and it's endless sorrows
Death as my enemy I'll keep close my dear friend Letting go is never easy

I want to softly whisper
incomplete poems
on your collar bones
that don't rhyme with anything
but your heavy breathing.

I want to bury my face
in the curves of your neck
because you smell like the winter clouds
and I've been gazing at the sky
since you left.

she was a poet,
and he was her pen.
in him,
she always found words to write,
songs to sing,
thoughts to think.

he'd smile,
and kiss her softly,
and say,
"write me a poem."

and she would.
she'd put poe,
and whitman,
and shakespeare to shame,
and she'd write a poem that made his eyes water.

she'd compare him
to a rose with no thorns,
a book with no end,
a world with no poverty --
the things we all wish for,
but can never attain.

//

he asked her one day,
"what am i?"
and so she picked up her pen,
and began the usual:
you are the shining sun after a hurricane,
with rays that open the eyes of the blind.

but he stopped her after those two lines,
and said that this time,
he didn't want any metaphors,
or similes,
or analogies.
he wanted the truth.

and so on that night,
as he slept,
the poet picked up her pen,
and she wrote.

she wrote,
then thought better of it,
then started over again,
and this cycle continued well into the early hours of the morning,
until suddenly,
she wrote, frantic,
if i can't love you for what you really are,
have i ever really loved you at all?

this, too,
she thought better of,
condemning it to the trash.

the next morning the poet was gone,
her final work a mere two words:

i'm sorry.

(a.m.)
this is more of a story than a poem but i like how it came out so leave thoughts & comments please

How long am I going to be your "sometimes"?
Your "maybe" or "I'm not sure yet"?
How many times are you going to put me on a shelf
until you decide you're ready to want me again?
I'm not ready to kiss you goodbye,
and be left only with the memories.
So please don't make me think there's hope of a something,
if you're just going to leave me here with nothing
but a broken dream.

I've always searched for a home
a place I belonged, where I felt safe

I've never experienced this kind of home

but as I sit still each morning listening to my breath,
I am coming home to myself as I settle into a
silence of heart and mind
an interior home of the heart that's always with me

tonight when I got home
I pulled my hair into a ponytail.
I wished I could have kept pulling,
up and up until every little thing
and every last hair was off my shoulders.
-
I was running down my street tonight.
a meager glance down and I saw
another shadow chasing mine.
breathlessly,
excitedly I braked
in time to realize both shadows belonged to me.
-
tonight I mapped the distance
from Salt Lake to Phoenix;
11 hours and 18 minutes.
should I stop through Vegas
or the Grand Canyon?
-
I fell asleep alone tonight
in a bed too spacious for my body.
through murky midnight eyes,
I thought I caught you turning over.
what I didn't realize
is that you are not sleeping here
not tonight
and not the night before.
as a mood swing was headed down. -The Avett Brothers

A desolate desire, a rambunctious hope.
To see the burning fire within this zealous stroke,
With inflamed vessels of red to be seared,
The beat of a heart with a sound quite fickle.

Undecided fate, lack of concentration.
In a mind of dissipation, despise the renunciations.
Piece together the puzzle of the human mind and rip apart to be in the mad man's confines.

Fortitude to bear, uninterrupted disaster.
Tutor the wreck less with ambition, explain your own maddening rendition.
Take back the flames of a stolen heart, hope it lasts before it starts.

Your words melted from the heat of your mouth
and dripped from your tongue.
The syllables sounded like gunshots firing from your lips
dropping against the ground with a metallic thud.
How many times have you performed this execution?
Deep down I knew you were a fox and I was a rabbit
but I never thought you would stop my heart in such a way.
My heart stuttered when you said my name
but now the mention of yours freezes me
like the cold that creeps into a lifeless body.
You always said you had no soul
but with every death you leave in your wake,
you collect yet another.
I remember begging you to stop speaking
to stop reloading your bullets.
But what's the point when you already planned
to leave me behind, struggling to breathe?

Before money

We used to
Trade with
Goods

Something like
A clay *** for
A bag of rice

After the existence
Of money

Every transaction
Linked directly or
Indirectly with
Money

You know what
We ourselves
Created money

from King to
An ordinary
Person

It rules everyone

Values
Worth
Status

Comes with
Money

What if one day
Money dies

I too had no idea

But, barriers will
Be

Broken

And life

Will start
To adapt
To a new Era
This thought

May be what many

Of us had

Deep rooted

Actually from comments
I had come to
A conclusion
The greed of man
Has to die instead of
Money

Through the wandering spectrum
Of cerulean dragonfly eyes
You fly without hesitation
Observing the vast and marvelous world
As if it were your own
As if it were your cut-out template,
With an admirable sense of wonder
And the fervent desire
Not only to know
But to contemplate
The luminescence of a fluttering firefly
How the brittle mechanisms of life
Apply
Through crystal-clear dragonfly wings
You carry your mind
