What are you afraid of?
Oh, nothing sir.
Surely, everyone is afraid of something.
Yes, sir. I am afraid of the dark.
Of the dark?
No, more of what is in the dark. What is in the dark is most scary since you cannot see. Does that count sir?
silence Of course. You, young boy, are brilliant.
Sir? What are you afraid of?
Me, oh I am afraid of dying. It means my life here is done when I felt it just got started.
I must go sir, have a lovely afternoon.
The boy skips away from the old man. The old man smiled, stood up, and walked away.
Nearby, a woman said,
That boy is crazy, talking to that old man's grave. Why, he's been dead for over twenty years.

Life is so full of interesting things, don't be afraid to get out there and try something new.
Let people in and get to know people as there are people who will make life a much better experience.
It is better to be remembered and to have made an impact on people than to leave this world and nobody remembers you.
Love may hurt, make you angry, make you laugh or make you happy, but it is what makes life worth living.

"She was an
unusual dresser.
Every night,
she wore bruises
on her heart,
love on her lips,
pain in her eyes,
and ink on her fingers.
They called her poetry."

I want to smother your lips

with my own,

to kiss you so hard

your lungs beg for air,

and spots dance in your vision

like fireworks on the Fourth.

I want you to forget.

Forget your name

and where you came from

because in that moment

it will only be

us.

The difficult thing about a love poem
is that it doesn’t want to be one.
You see! I’ve already let the meter go
wherever it wants to roam, for the sake of fun,
and to make my point. It’s sort of like the way
our feet get tangled when we sleep, and we trip
into each other’s dreams. Poetry can’t contain
how gently you kissed me — even when I was sick.
This type of love requires an honesty
that poetry can’t express. A careful glance,
chocolates, red wine and all the rest
can’t capture the drunk-in-love ways we’ve danced —
or the magic of long plants. But who’ll blame me for
trying to count the ways that I adore you?

Let’s pretend we were made
To be the two of us together
Let’s pretend not just today,
But tomorrow too, and forever.
Let’s pretend some cupid guy
Shot his arrow at both our hearts.
Let’s pretend we had no choice
That some magic made it start.

Let’s pretend there is nobody
On this earth but we two.
That neither of us has work
Or any chores we must do.
Let’s act the same as if
We were just two small kids
And build some loving memories
Of the fun things we did.

Let’s pretend that our love
Is all we will ever really need
And let this game of our hearts
And souls happily proceed.
And let’s pretend the two of us
Get to make all the rules
And people who don’t agree
Are just ordinary boring fools.

Let’s pretend there’s nothing we
Need to worry ourselves about
And that any problems that occur
We two can work them out.
Let’s pretend this is a world
Like the one in our fondest dreams
And see if we can make it be
Precisely as magical as it seems.
So
I promised to wait for you
& it was fairytales & fables
*but I broke my promise
cause it's easier waiting tables
