Neuvalence
The wind blows and I am taken away
by the rich smell that lingers
on this flightless strip of concrete
bearing witness to the feet touching it;
haven’t had a touchdown since
the friction of rubber that last took off

But the grass sways and vines prosper
as birds, harmonious over the treetops,
sing past the mangroves in
a V-formation in the skies
I stand here witnessing beauty before my eyes

On this edge of the land, not a soul but I
sees the exuberant nature of the
spiritual wealth of the abandoned
Swept away to see that humans are
not needed for a land to be free

DaSH the Hopeful
And try to light em underneath an ocean's worth of crude oil
That is forcing it's way into my lungs
My high hopes hung their heads in the past as they waited to be hanged

But now the concept of life felt empty and displayed itself as a delay
A casual lack of oxygen shut off all process in the brain

And we are on our way.

And the darkness fades to grey,
           **A less ambivalent shade.

Rainswood
taking things too far,
it's what I've always done

somewhat desensitized
I suppose
you have become.

numb to my assaults
on your peaceful state
the calmness
you carry
so gently

As I crash around myself
with a raging
hurricane in my heart
I am working on not being so self destructive. It just comes so naturally

Martha
Pack your things in a suitcase and head out the door
The four walls that used to hold you don’t feel like home no more
And I know you said you made your bed
Picked up your mess and left
But the ghost that haunts my hallways now
well he’s not a welcomed guest
Pleasant days are here
Waking at the crack of dawn
The sound of nightingales
With their early morning call.

So glad to be alive and well
Facing another day of life
With smells of sweet perfume
From the fragrance of flowers

Smiling faces everywhere
At one with nature's soft embrace
With every seasons that we have
From winter snow to springtime leaves.

So let us count our blessings
In each and every way
Let's not take things for granted
On this gift of a brand new day.
The good things in life we sometimes take for granted.

It
I breathe. Fast. Black. Panic sets in.
Beautiful as the world starts caving in.
The dark birds throwing, a shadow my way,
Predicting a future, filled with dismay.

I see. Shining. Light. Peace comes this day.
The eyes of the one - looking my way.
Does it know that I’m starring?
Those eyes I believe, the smile, the thought. I start to bleed.

I feel. Plenty. Warm. Can it be enough?
To stop the panic, to stop the rust?
My knees are too heavy, breathing is hard.
It gives me its lung, I am more than I thought.

I live. Long. Bright. I think this is it.
No dark birds, no walls crumbling in.
My heart is now beating, so potent, so strong.
The futures great ocean, I start to shrug off.
