My Dear Poet Dec 2021
I am looking out a window
down a road that leads to sea
past fields along the horizon
there’s a bird upon a tree
where eye can’t see behind leaves
where a branch holds the strong
I can’t hear, but I believe
there’s a wing and there’s a song

I’m looking out over meadows
across hills, beyond the blue
where the willow casts her shadow
where my lady is out of view
bathing by a bay on an ocean
tending to her tail and fin
She’s humming, pouring lotion
and in my heart I hear her sing

Santa stole my wife
enslaved my kids as elves
and oh dear, for the reindeer
he took my dog as well
But Christmas is still Christmas
ain’t no season to be sad
I’m taking some comfort, knowing
Mr Clause is also bad
So let’s not judge the other
for I’ve been naughty too
and if you too haven't been so nice
Well…a Merry Merry Christmas
to you
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
You went straight for the heart
without learning how to hold my hand
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
one more poem
if I may try
just one
more
before I lay
down
and die
for I have cried
some silly words
to rhyme, recite
rewrite
the absurd
I’ve barely been able
to live with myself
let alone
with my thoughts
and no one else
I’ve wrestled
and fought
most of life in my mind
now I empty myself
of my final line
one more written
last one read
so you can bury me now
alone
inside my head

Your crooked smile and sinister lips
make it hard for me to fix this kiss
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
People with big hearts
are often bleeding on the floor
when found

‘Beautiful’ is so big
it often weighs them down.

People like you and I
should help carry beautiful hearts
around

hold them over our shoulder
and let the beautiful abound

Soon enough people will see
you’re  bleeding ‘Beautiful’

and help you too
off the ground
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
A blind woman gave birth
to the most beautiful girl
on earth

She could feel her heart beat
but could never see her face

She could touch her hand
but never saw her
eyes of grace

She could smell her skin
but never seen
her smiling

a beautiful blind woman bore
the most beautiful woman on earth
who saw her mother more

than just with eyes and all their worth
