If I coaxed
Her tides to ease,
Only then do fears reprieve -

I hope too
In time she sees,
That I accept her in
Entirety.

There is much still
That I hope for her
And of me, for both
To get over
And conquer.

There are demons
That have not seen
Light of day,
But in the dark
I cannot slay -
Try as I may.

Still

I want to be beguiled,
And lose myself - like falling
Into the gaze of a gorgon
Or succumbing to
The sweet release of a siren's song -
Neither can compare to drowning
In the depth of her oceans.
I long for her currents to coil,
To envelop myself in its motion -
To be ravaged and weathered,
Finally untethered
But mostly, to be
unbroken.
A shadow stumbles
through the chaos -
though nothing stands
between the moon,
the shattered icons
and blasted houses.

Conjured from
the exhaust of
ceaseless agitation,
the specter enshrouds
both the entranced
and the exalted.

This billowing
aberration -
the embodiment
of fears brewed
from loathing -
has no substance

or perception.
A ravenous void,
it slouches and bends
towards the
gilded Calvary
of conviction's end.

This brokenness,
is our oneness,
I don't want a cure
Cannot decipher whether you are my addiction or my medication.
if people knew how much they meant to someone, would they have stayed?
maybe if you knew, then you would have stayed
Mirror, mirror, on the wall...
Is it worth me asking anymore?

Do you tell the truth
at all?

"I'm better now"
I say, as I stare at a black screen,
Alone, numb.

"I'm better now"
I declare, as I sit on the floor of my room,
Too scared to go outside.

"I'm better now"
I mutter, as little cuts slowly appear
Along the side of my arm.

"I'm better now"
I scream, as I push my body
Off the floor and into the sky.

"I'm so happy, I'm better now"

a glass bowl filled
with seafoam-green
colored sand.
i ingather grains
to its center
with the bottom of
an incense stick.
a cross is drawn.
then i place it till perfectly
*****, light the tip and
wave.
its crown smokes upward.
when its meditation is
surrounded by fallen ash,
i remove the remainder
of the incense stick from the
center.
Working its ash
into the grains of sand with
a spiraling motion.

If dreams came true, I'd be there by your side.
We'd watch our favorite movies while drinking coffee on the couch.
If dreams came true, you would tell me that you're sad.
I would tell you I feel the same.
That everything would be okay, and not to be afraid.
If dreams came true, we'd be the only two adults dancing in the rain.
People would stare, but we wouldn't have time to care.
If dreams came true, I'd be there when you had nightmares.
I'd hold you in my arms and chase the dark away.
If dreams came true, you and I would be a melody, and it'd be my favorite song.
