Auto-suggestion is choosing to focus on the good things someone has done to us especially when they just did something that wronged us.

Better still, focusing on the fact that they are God's pure being!

He has a bad attitude
But he wears the blame on other people
He never tried the blame on for once
Maybe it never crossed his mind
Or he thinks he's too right to ever do wrong

I liken him to a blind man
Looking at several mirrors
But could never see himself
And calls all the mirrors blind

Maybe the bad attitude is not the problem
But that he is blind to see himself
Or arrogant to accept his wrongs
And that he's not a flower but thorns!

What's the appropriate punishment
for an intentional murderer?
Looking from the eyes of the deceased family members,
What's your verdict?
What if the accused is a family member?
What if the accused had a good life and
was influenced by "something"?
Will the accused be condemned for life?
Could there be a second chance?

The word "balance" seems so underrated
We need it in almost every aspect of our lives.
There has to be a balance between the time we commit to our jobs and our family.
Between work and play.
Between spending, saving and investing.
Balance is also important in our diet, hence "balanced diet".
Balance is crucial to live a quality life.

This morning, I uninstalled (BBM) BlackBerry Messenger
And to me, that was an eye-opener
I remember few years back,
It was the most sought-after

(At least, in the country I was at the time)
You were highly regarded if you carried a BlackBerry phone,
Even if it wasn't your own
At most, every 10 minutes you would hear the PING tone

The news carried guys who committed all sorts of crime to buy a BlackBerry phone
I heard of girls who sold their bodies for the same thing
I'm sure, when they look back at those days
They won't be proud of what once made them "fly"

The lessons for me are...
Things don't last forever
Whatever it is you can't reach legitimately,
Let it go and let it come organically

Do all you can while you can
Because time and season changes
When the season is favourable for you,
Do not step on toes and
Do not burn bridges, it could transport some help at a later time!

Then God looked over all He had made,
and He saw that it was very good!

Then I looked at all the poetry I created
and I saw they are all beautiful!

How shallow it is to judge beauty
by just outward appearance
It's comparable to calling everything
that glitters diamond
True beauty is found at the core of a being
Who would want to house a gold-plated bomb?
Who would say no to gold bars because
they're wrapped in tattered cloths?
Before calling someone ugly or beautiful,
Seek to know the nature of their heart and soul.
Even at that, who says it's our call to judge!
God made all humans pristine & beautiful,
And that's (wo)man's truest nature,
only contaminated by worldly impurities
Yet at the very core of every being,
there exists purity as it's created to be.

Holding on to life with clenched fist
Worrying unnecessarily over this
Having sleepless nights over that

Why get thrown here and there like a dart
Mind wavering like a piece of feather
Blown haphazardly by the wind

Clinging to the past
Bothered about that which is to come
Missing out on the beauty of the now

Trading a firm ground for sinking sand
Wishing to turn back the hands of time
If only he would live in the moment

And let tomorrow take care of itself
It's not a sin to plan for the days ahead
But now is the only time we have
Who says tomorrow is guaranteed

It's all about being my very best
It has nothing to do with the rest
Failure to me isn't losing
It depends on how it is perceived
I allow the pains and the hurt fall through
But I keep the lessons learned in the sieve

Giving up is not an acceptable option
But perseverance coupled with passion
With eyes looking on the bright side of things.

I promise to be the best
I signed myself an oath
In this ocean of life, I will row the boat
It's a cold world, I will keep warm in my coat

It won't always be easy
I don't want the easy-peasy
I will challenge myself
I will dare myself

My biggest competitor would be myself
I will not limit myself
I will encourage myself
I will always be the best version of myself!

He got played
And kicked out
By the ones he called trusted friends
And sadly he fell

None of them could tell
That he was going to land on a spring
Zoom...He took off
Balancing above their heads
A blessing in disguise

Propelled to his Promised Land

Majority of us are pregnant with
gifts and ideas (that's twins)
Most times, the first step needed to be taken
to birth them, is the step of faith.
Some people's excuse is "oh, now it's too late"
But Colonel Sanders was 65 years
when he birthed KFC
Like childbirth, birthing ideas and gifts
often needs labor
But you'll receive favor if you're walking in purpose
There's something in you waiting to be
birthed — give yourself to it.

Birth and Death are basically
The wearing of a flesh
And the taking off of the flesh
Respectively
The human spirit has always been
And will always be!

If life was meant to be viewed only in
black and white
God wouldn't have created all the colorful
things He made
God clearly loves diversity and that's why
He's made each of us (humans) unique in
our own way (pleasing to Him I believe).

I wonder why we still find it hard to accept
each other as God's Masterpieces
We were made with so much love deposited
in our hearts
Yet, we are allowing hatred to rule our world!

I look forward to the day when we will all see
the beauty in our differences and embrace
each other as ONE (as it was designed to be).

God made me and He gave me a heart of gold
See, my black skin is as pure as my soul
So, judge not my vessel by its outer coat
Look inside this vessel and see what it holds

Royalty runs through my arteries and veins
Efforts to put us under is efforts in vain
Because — Still, We Rise! like Maya said
I'm black excellence, a voice that cannot be silenced.

This blame game is no fun
Instead of putting an end to it,
We take turns
Our precious flower getting replaced by thorns
Well, the same sun that tans also burns
I suggest we drop attitudes that break bonds
I will start first
I take the blame 'cause it is you that I want!

Surrounded by blessings, it's all I see & hear
Lack is noise and it's being cancelled out
Wherever the enemy stays, lurking
I have Angels around, constantly watching
All of my supplies come from above,
I have no fears of it running out
When things look a little undesirable,
Stressing & worrying are unrequired,
I simply lift up my voice like a mass choir
And He does the works of His hands like He's unretired
A blessed life is that of faith & not of senses.

Peace in the midst of the storm
In You only, I get this from
Strength to surmount the mountain
You make it flow from within me like a fountain
Wisdom for discernment
You have given me without measurement
Love to deal with myself and all
You lavished me, I didn't have to shop for it in a mall
I get asked about this beauty
Easily, I tell everyone You gave me freely
You're faithful in every season
Thank You for all your blessings!

I just want to ask one question
Is the human race obeying the mathematical rule called BODMAS?
Just a refresher...  
Brackets, Orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction

We have created different brackets
where we enclose people like casket
He's black, she's white, they are rich,
those are poor, she's educated, he's religious, he's fat, she's slim... Brackets

People are treated differently
Based on the class that we've put them in
Some are raised to power like exponents
Others are trapped in like square roots...Orders

The segregation has only intensified our division
I don't fit in here, I belong over there
My group is stronger, those ones are losers... Division

Disunity and absence of love has caused
A multiplication of our problems
Threats, deportation, persecution
We don't like them, we'll bomb them
War, insurgency, terrorism, hate speech... Just problems Multiplication

Every second, our population is experiencing several additions
Our population keeps growing while
Our natural resources are being exploited
And depleting at a rate faster than our population growth
Our resources are experiencing severe subtractions

I just want to ask one more time...
Aren't we obeying BODMAS?
