Incognito
if you haven't noticed
the scars on my hips
or the fake smile on my lips
or the forced laugh that i've aopted
or the way i don't care
about the things i used to love
then don't you dare stand
at my grave and cry

how can you cry for someone
that you don't even know?

A pen and paper
have always been my weapons of choice,
they helped me cope and come to grips,
they gave my sorrow a voice.

In your cold absence,
I have forgotten what
the word warmth meant

Perhaps you were
the word warmth

But now, you are
the word silence

I talk to you,
but you do not talk back
Ode to River Phoenix. This poem is inspired by the campfire scene from My Own Private Idaho which was written by River himself.
I wonder what monsters
believe are lurking
under their own beds at night

Maybe you or me?
The truth is that
We are finite
One life we have to live
To fill the world
With love and light
Not tarnish it with hate

The truth is that
We are human
Each and every one
So teach the next generation
To do better than we’ve done
The truth is that this poem could probably never really be finished as there are so many messages that need to be sent to the world and words will never be enough

My fate

Brandon
If my fate is to love you
From a distance
Then I'll burn for you
Like a star in your night sky
Bright, steady, reliable
Unwavering
Until the end of time.
A broken bottle
Rubbed smooth by the ocean
Tamed and beautiful
Nature creates art
