**** the blood off my teeth
i let myself get this weak
slithered through the gapes
bit down as soon as it was safe
waited till i was comfortable
at my most vulnerable
you knew i wouldn't survive
but if it makes you feel alive
there is nothing you wouldn't do

And with a sincere smile,
she looked to the stars
knowing the future was worthwhile,
even, with a thousand scars.

Do you see
what I see?

Do you see
A friend in
me?

Am I
What you want
me to be?

Am I
enough for you
to be heard
or to be seen?

Is there anything
wrong with me,
if so will you
tell me?

Am I green
or am I grey?

Am I
good enough
for you to stay,
or will you
leave me astray?

These villains in my mind
Are plotting my demise
Thoughts all intertwined
And only filled with lies

They want my life to end
And sometimes so do I
So desperate for a friend
Just to look me in the eye

And tell me that they care
That life is still worth living
So long as they are there

if ever

you don’t

feel

like you have a home,

pull me close,

wrap your arms around me,

rest your head on my chest,

close your eyes,

and feel the warmth of the fireplace

resonating from within my heart.
