sometimes it was like,
the sun was going to shine,
forever.
you by my side,
i didn't think life could be,
better.
but fall comes,
and turns into winter.
its not only the weather,
that gets a bit colder.

There were days
I remembered
To put my heart on my sleeve.

The other days
I hid it
So deep inside my body
I couldn’t find it for myself.

The terror of anyone finding
Me judging me
Seemed to linger in the air
I inhaled.
Tell me,
How can
Emptiness
Be so heavy?

Some days
The burden is lighter
A helping hand
Carries the weight
With a smile
Or maybe
I find a place
Where it would be safe
To leave it for a while

It always makes its way
Back into it's place
In the middle of me

We all are unique magicians

From a painter to a nurse
To a poet that writes a verse
We create it in our own way
To brighten up somebody's day

We may all not have mind blowing tricks
Though our goodness still sticks
Our efforts never go unnoticed
And we don't make use of hypnosis

We all are created for a specific use
Each with our own personal muse
We all are unique magicians
And we will fulfill our missions
We all have a little magic

I met a woman
brutal in her mercy.

Her embrace was a clinch
to prevent hard blows.
She pulled me close to push me away.
Seeing my nakedness
she leant me a dream
of chainmail and shield.
Taking love from me she gave a reprieve
to a mind resigned to the slow death of feeling.

Ignoring my words she heard
my faint silent heartbeat and
understood that it was music
too quiet for the world to hear
and turned it up louder
than I could stand.
I wept in my deafness
as she danced.
The Prosperity Beat
It feels so sweet
Where music, wealth
And poetry meet

Urging you forward
Moving your feet
It transfers the power
to people you greet

The beat’s contagious
You can feel the flow
It fills you with purpose
Every place you go

So pass on the beat
To the large and the small
The beat’s never ending
You’ll have plenty for all

And if people ask
Why you look so complete
Just share it with them…

My wife Kim and I were driving and the radio was playing a song with quite a percussion beat, and I thought, "I should write a poem about The Prosperity Beat".

So I did.  The prosperity beat is contagious - so enjoy the RAP and the poem and pass it on.

you say you love rain, but you use an umbrella to walk under it.
you say you love the sun, but you seek shelter when it is shining.
you say you love the wind, but when it comes you close the windows.

so that's why I’m scared when you say you love me.

If I gave you my soul,
would you read each page?
Scribble notes of interest
and know me.
Would you take the time,
to help tape the seams?
Would you mend,
the fragility of my soul?
It tears and rips,
easily, emotionally.

Nobody
What becomes of me
when nothing remains
my god
it's happening again
close your eyes

I stumble over myself
in the darkness of mind
and I perceive myself
as I am, as I am not

I am he
he is they
they are we
and I am nothing
but the sum of my parts

Ideas take shape
they form,
they split
and I am overcome
I am --
countless parts
moving in unison

I am he
he is they
they are we
we are she
she is I
and I am no longer--
alone in the dark.
