What of life now ill days have come
and fate reveals its time for some;
our lives to date we could endure
but now it seems we're less secure.

The days ahead are fraught with fear
if there's no hope, there is no cheer;
although we ride our current state
that does not mean it will abate.

A way forward we have been told
is to accept the common fold;
get the jab then we'll all be sweet
and each other safer to greet.

For things are getting harder still
as this virus they can't yet ****;
it seems we'll have to live with it
making the most of each minute.

The delta* variant somehow
is the one that's so rampant now;
being more transmissible and
getting a little out of hand.

It's such a pity for the race
now this dilemma has to face;
a slow decline of values past
as the future is shadow cast.

Yet life goes on we see around
people are building above ground;
they're making the most of the rate
banks are lending with in this state.

Who knows how long it will go on
this crisis that seems like a con;
they haven't done enough to stop
the virus spreading as we shop.

Stricter measures could be imposed
but that might mean more to be closed;
life as known may come to a halt
and our lives get a backward jolt.

The vaccines developed to date
are only as good as a mate;
they can't stop or **** the virus
but lessen its impact in us.

O woe be told! what can one do
when all of life depends on you;
man's guilt 'n shame have led to this
because of things hard to dismiss.

In times past the same has happened
and life then was also flattened;
it seems that man hasn't yet learnt
to live life without getting burnt.

Written in early September 2021. *Now it's the Omicron variant.
By this time 2019 the onslaught had begun..
devastating attack on mankind not carried out by guns..
just a virus, tiny yet deadly ravaging the world..
not an equal monster in decades, Covid-19 it was called.

mysteriously crept into our world, inexplicable origin..
lurking around rails, trails and air just to gain entry..
wrecking down all systems immune, nervous and circulatory..
sniffles life out of victims at the early stages, men was scary.

left us so terrified  in our towns and in our cities..
grounded and brought to a halt economic activities..
built up a partition of no solid material..
amongst us all, rich, poor and even the influential.

Once crowded streets in its wake were lonely and desserted..
nice playground activities and symposiums neglected..
for the dread of the global monsterous virus..
oh! no! never again we hope we beat the virus.

It took from us loved ones both promising and elderly..
frightening mode of operation, collapsing the lungs steadily..
trailing wails world all over from the healthcare facilities..
universal pandemonium, we were overwhelmed seemingly.

Emotionally traumatising was the unpleasant experience..
of watching its victims gasping in the midst of abundance..
I cried like many many others seeing a menace to existence..
and all we did was pray for return of peaceful ambience.

till date still place a limit on human interactions..
medical practitioners working their ***** off..
to get a cure for it although now there's vaccination..
was an era in human history, covid-19 what a distraction!

I know someone who thinks he's enlightened,
while other people are still quite frightened.

He knows for sure that Corona is a lie,
just as much as pigs can't fly.

No point discussing things with him,
for he considers everything I say as dim.

Don't watch the news, he says, it's all fake,
the truth is, that your freedom is at stake.

Certain media channels tell you for a fact
that the richest people have formed a pact.

With subtle methods they keep you at bay,
and aim to shape you like a piece of clay.

Think about the real reason for vaccination,
it's enough to give you fear and trepidation.

Aren't you a little grim and negative, I say,
isn't it even paranoid to think that way?

He smugly looks at me 'cos he thinks he's right,
and pities me as I won't put up a fight.

I suppose belief is bliss no matter how misguided
or how badly informed one views things lopsided.

Perhaps he's survived by learning how to swim,
but where would we be, if we all thought like him.

I've been shot,
Yet dodged the bullet.

Thanx anti-vaxers
For reducing my
Time in line.

Lest We Forget!
Got my Pfizer yesterday, about 25% quicker than anticipated thanks to the fools who refuse to get the dose.
