Dear Lord,
Don’t let me ask only for myself,
For problems solved and better health,
Nor ask only for kin and friends,
With minor ills and moral trends,
But make me think in global terms,
Where drought kills and injustice burns,
Please tend to their greater needs first,
Help heal their wounds and quench their thirst,
My patient faith can wait till then,
My prayer sent -
Goodnight -
Amen.

Reaching, straining, grasping,
Desperate to reach our promised place.
Never quite getting there,
Fists forever full of air.

Empty promises and crushed dreams,
Memories fall from bitter lips,
Lie and prayers fall on deaf ears,
Meant for no one to ever hear.

Dear Lord,
If only we had your humility,
If only consciences were blame free,
Could turn our cheeks if roughly struck,
Could face moral issues, and not duck,
Serve ourselves right, by serving the master,
Serve no other; avoiding disaster,
Treat our enemies as long lost friends,
Treat our hatred as a means to amends,
Offer our souls as only yours to use,
Offer our spirits, which we never lose,
Share what we have with the sick and the poor,
Share what we have and be left with more,
Think of your will, and not think of our own,
Think of Heaven as our eventual home.

We know how hard it is to reach this goal,
We know that to score ... would make us more whole.

Tears are frustration and sadness
Tears are a celebration and happiness

Tears release the hurt and pain
Tears decorate the love insane

Tears are offerings and surrender
Tears are emotions at the purest

Tears are grief and helplessness
Tears are gratitude and thankfulness

Tears are not just tears for the show
Don't ever say, "let them flow"

Unfolding ones truest self
Tears are prayers to the higher self

The eyes, filled with tears for you
Have the deepest love for you

Those who need your shoulders
They trust you to shed their tears

Such people are the gifts forever
Never never let them go, never!!

Sticks and bones may break your bones
but words…
Words will chew you up, spit you out, and leave you on the bottom of the ocean’s floor.

Then they will breathe a tiny bit of hope into your lungs and drag you back to shore.
As your left gasping for air,
those words will have you begging for more.

Never underestimate the power of words.
Chaos has plagued the world started from prayers that go unheard.

In March, she pushed a shining black calf
Into the world, and watched as it staggered
To wobbling legs waiting for her to rise.

She couldn't.
Pinched nerves,
Calving paralysis,
Unable to rise.

My brother and his wife
Bottle fed the calf for several weeks,
Waiting for a miracle,
For which the two had prayed,
And then one day the mother stood
Weak, shaking, but on the mend.

A couple weeks more,
And she was down again,
Stuck in front of the barn
With barely an appetite,
Drinking water from a bucket,
Resting upright in her own mess.

The calf was doing fine.

June 1 came, and field work to do,
My brother, ever patient, could wait no more.
Loaded his old 30-30 and headed to the barn.

He scratched the cow's forehead,
Told her she had been a good bossy,
And that he was sorry, and then looked at her.
He turned and emptied the rifle on the way to the house.

"Lord, it would sure do me a favor
If you were just to take her
So I wouldn't have to shoot her."

He returned to the barn and hayed the bulls.
On his way back to the water tank, he stopped
By his old friend and looked at her.

The cow raised her head,
And while my brother watched,
Her  eyes rolled up and back.
She sighed deeply, and then her head
Sagged down and she was gone.

He called me shortly after,
Still a little bit in awe,
A little bit in pain,
Glad to have me listen,
Though both our mouths were dumb
At the way God's prayers are answered,
And the ways His answers come.

We got word that your still here
But you came to and your living in fear
For five seconds you were awake and mumbled "I'm scared"
Then slipped away...
You remain in a coma and unresponsive
Scared
Afraid
What kind of life is that to live
We are all praying for you and love you
But it's ok if you have to just let go....
Found out our friend came too for 5 seconds and mumbled I'm scared then slipped back into the coma. She's been unresponsive for the past two days. I know you don't know me or her but please send love and prayers.
