The only time I get to really see and appreciate the beauty of the night sky is when there's a powercut and its dark all over,
That's when I appreciate the power of the moon, and beauty of the stars,
Indeed every dark time of life has something beautiful to it,
There's always something to illuminate it,you just have to look for it,.

Have you ever seen a night sky so clear;
So clear that there’s not even a sign of the moon’s existence?

Well, I’m under one right now
The street is empty and the darkness is silent
No rustling of leaves or bushes,
No hums of crickets singing in chorus

Window drapes are down
And they’re all black instead of yellow
Streetlights are the only source of light
And that telephone booth standing steadily alone on the corner

Hands inside my hoodie’s pocket, I go in it
I pick the phone up and started dialing a number
When suddenly all the lights go out
In a blink of an eye, and the world is in total darkness

Everything is quieter than ever
Then the wind comes whooshing
The thunder begins applauding
The lighting started like camera flashes

Raindrops as big as golf ***** fall from the sky
And the way they hit the roof of the booth,
I almost believe they’re as heavy
Inside the booth I still get wet from all the sweat

Then, as if on cue, the storm dies
Quietness floods again
The booth light flickers but that’s all
Streetlights never come back

Hesitating for a moment, I slowly go out
I look up and the sky isn’t just a black canvas anymore;
It’s now filled with blots of white ink
Glittered to life

I kick the waters not yet ****** up by the drains
I look at how calm they are
Mirroring the beautiful night sky painted
I can definitely say I’m top and under the cosmos

Blazing stars across the sky
Night’s come alive with celebrations
Gorgeous display across the dark
So many things do fade away
But sheer brilliance gives hope
Many dark corridors will be lit up
The constellations know the secret

oh how much I
want to jump into
the incredibly dark
night sky
and swim
to the blinding stars.
To grab them
and bring them in
close to my ear,
to hear the whispered
wishes of the people
around the world

The one he loves stares up into space
The one she longs for is so far away
He can’t count how many lights there are
She doesn’t care; he’s too far, far.
The moon shouts “There! There! He sits by your side!”
She sighs, “Where could my love hide?”
The one he longs for doesn’t see
He cries, “For - she loves, but not for me!”
She gazes at stars as he swoons at her
She longs for love, never returned
Under the moon, his heart is breaking
Under the moon, where she spoke;
“My love, I’ve had enough.
You’re too far gone.”
Yet she doesn’t give up; she carries on.
He sings a song, heard high up in the clouds.
But, the cruel ground is weighing her down.
She doesn’t hear, though he shouts,
“I would steal that big blue moon.
If that would make you satisfied.
Your feelings, now, are made clear.
But why can’t you just see that I’m here?
The moon knows, the stars do too
No one but I is meant for you. But that won’t make you satisfied.”
The one he loves will not sit and look at the moon that tells her,
“he’s been there all along.”
She is too discontent, too oblivious.
And he is too hopeful, too ignorant.

I'm gazing up, I'm gazing high.
Let me watch the stars tonight.

It mightn't give me better grades,
or wash my clothes or clean the plates,
or make me famous, make me rich,
or change the direction of my fate.
And it won't just fix the politics,
or save the falling economy,
or cease these tiring, endless wars
and it won't eradicate poverty.

But even if there's nothing right,
let me watch the stars tonight.

Hitchhiking through the galaxy,
a blazing comet passes by,
and waves to billion specks of light,
those sparkling diamonds in the sky.

Tomorrow I may change the world,
or I might even exercise.
Tonight I'm gazing up and high,
I'm looking at the stars tonight.

You are my star,
the star that shines brightly in the night sky,
you are the star that will shine forever in my eyes,
You are my star to keep and admire.
*I wish upon a star you'll forever be mine

Lie beneath the galaxy in a cathedral silence,
Stay up till the moon dives behind the beige mountains.
Rest on your beast, let the valves take a break,
Treat yourself with a feast, its the only time in your fate.
Slithering into my sack I rest under the canvas,
How peaceful it is far away from all the ruckus.

The monk's prayers bid me with good luck,
I'm off riding in the sparse cold desert.
I stop with the view of a disputed lake,
Miles long the jade blue reflects the golden tops.
In refuge at a monastery, fuel is a luxury,
I'd give up everything for a piece of this little heaven.

So bright it shines,
Far away and yet so bright
Dazzling in the night sky
I stare at the heavens
And there it is staring back
Sirius the glowing one
Brighter than any
Outshines every other in the sky
Millions of them are out there
But none shines so bright
