let the lash of the eye fall back into the air,
let the body be weightless.
let the voices die down,
Let the grief be dense.
All the light that once shone,
let it be gone,
Let it all be gone.

Let the words go quiet,
Let the body crumple up.
Let the heart be silent,
Let the organs collapse
Let the mind give up.
Let the breath be soaked
in the weight
Odd Odyssey Poet Dec 2024
The profits, the blessed favours; the prophets and God’s flavours –
toss them all into the cauldron of my existence. May the Lord grant
me the wisdom to remain humble, to embody the spirit of a nurturing
father, a true leader only after learning the ropes of a follower. As I
journey forth, shall I tie those teachings into my path; from the chaos,
shall I pluck my beloved, out of the bunch, to be my favourite flower.

The silence, the powerful peace of power; the pieces of hurt resonate
with a deafening echo of remorse, there’s no need to answer. To every
son and daughter, embrace the legacy bestowed upon you by your
fathers and mothers.  – let the essence of your purpose guide you
steadfastly, no matter where your journey takes you, as you wonder.

If only they asked us who we were
Instead of what we hoped to be
Perhaps the tides of life would stir
And drown the myth of destiny

We walked where others led
Convinced the end was worth the pain
But found the paths we hoped to tread
Were mirrored trails that looped in vain

Who we are was never asked
And who we are, we'll never know
A shadow cast, a question masked
By what they'd hope we'd choose to show

Who decides what form we take?
What mold could hold the restless mind?
The world, it seems, must bend or break
Yet asks the broken to be kind

On we marched, a scripted role
Each line rehearsed, each step aligned
But with every act, we dug a hole
And buried parts we'll never find

Deep beneath the guise
When all ambition fades away
We'll find no answers, just the lies
We told ourselves a long the way

The void, at last, will fill the space
Where questions hung and answers fled
It cares not of our time, or our place
It gazes back and calls us dead

So in the end, when the silence grows
And all masks are cast away
The self we left unloved, will show
And greet us as if we never strayed

I’m still not sure who I want to be
Finding myself in my poetry
Thoughts running deeper than I could even see
Growing darker and colder, like underneath the sea
Losing myself
So I can find my way
More questions than answers
What can I afford to pay
Do I really have a home?
Or am I a stray?
What’s the most important thing
That I can throw away?
Lately I’ve been thinking it’s time
But I still try to rhyme
Making things fit together
Though they may not fit fine

We can't know them
By their religion.
Too much hypocrisy.

We can't know them
By politics.
It's ever-changing... or not.

We can't know them
By country.
Zillions emigrate and immigrate.

We can't know them
By their clothes.
Emperor or not.

We can't know them
By their words.
Too many equivicators.

We can't know them
By their jobs.
At home or away.

We can't know them
By their family.
Nuclear or extended.

We can't know them
By their deeds.
They say one thing, and do another.

But look to  the roadside.
In the ditches.
By the curb.
In the bins.

Ye shall know them by their garbage.
"Them" is us.

I used to believe that in order to let love in,
you let in, in your heart, the people who carry it.
But today,
as I waved you goodbye,
and I let you go, let you go,
I realised.

Love also comes from people leaving.
Love also comes from letting go.

I used to believe that in order to let love in,
you share as much of it as you can,
with people you hold close
But today,
as I waved you goodbye,
and I let you go, let you go,
I realised.

Love also comes from not holding on
Love also comes when some people are gone
i finally confronted a friend who always made me question my worth. It was so hard but now i feel so free.

My closet is glass,
Therefore holds no skeletons within
But the glass is tinted
One must smash the glass in order to discover what is within.

I never expected that person to be me.
I just wanted to figure out who I was on the inside,
I wasn’t aware it was going to cause everlasting damage to my closet,
To my soul
