once a month
when you see the moon
basking in the glow of her lunar lunacy

her belly filled to the brim with stardust
hauling the drunken songs of sailors
to her like a tide

i hope you think of me.
Levita Mar 2021
She walks among the slits of light that pass between the horizon and the sky,
She paints their colors with her laughter and delight in the smallest things.
She kneads the storm clouds slowly adding her tears,
Her voice, the thunder and her wrath, the bolt.

She the builder of worlds, of hearth, of home, of love,
The lioness and She Bear in one,
The thread of strength that holds so many lives together.

Yet, we must remind her she is not Atlas bound to the world,
She is like the seasons or tide steady and rhythmic,
She is all things ,
She is the title but she is more that , Mother.

She is divinity that walks the earth.
Like the goddesses warriors of old,
She shall forever battle knowing that those who stand with her shoulder to shoulder follow her unwavering into the fray.
With loyalty untold , beside this marvel of divinity,
This the holy feminine trinity that graces the world with her smile.
I wrote this for a friend. She is wild and so much more than I can ever put into words.

She is a song not many hear,
She is wind chimes, chai tea, and floral print,
She is aphrodite .

She is a delicate touch,
She is a wild will,
She is Diana.

She has held my heart for many years

She is a will-o-wisp,
Lost and found ,
Unsure of herself.

But, I see you,
I see you in so many beautiful things,
I see you in sunrises on the deck in cloud decked coffee,
I see you in spring when the snow crous open
I see you in the fiery fall maple standing tall ready to with stand the brutality of winter,
Only to grow and find a new spring.
The sparrow who withstands ALL things and still sings her song upon the breeze.

You were a love I thought I lost,
Your kisses live rent free in my mind,
Your smile branded on my heart,
You made me realize intimacy isn’t just this or that,
It is in all things and for that I thank you .

It's not a competition,
It feels like its a game.
The paths we are all walking,
I believe are all the same.

I'm sure you'll get there sooner,
and this is how it feels.
That's because I do insist
I walk my path in heels.

A Queen in waiting, a Princess no less.
Each day, a routine before being seen.
For some, a shadow and not of the eye.
The kind you'd find on that of a guy.
An army of pogonophobes in dysphoric confusion.
Each purging our wardrobes,
a repeated delusion.

A leading *******
from a pornographic circus.
The ***** under graduate from
a school of *** workers.
Your Hubby's vision in blue
is our secret down south,
'cause he wouldn't kiss you with
that ***** mouth.

So, I'll stop you there Sizzle Chest
with your cans of Stella
in your pristine white vest.
'Cause this is real easy,
even for you Mr ******.

I used to be a Princess but
now I'm a Queen,
recently coronated
after all that I've seen.

Only one type of ****** is illegal to show,
and wearing a skirt is an excuse for ****.
Having two X chromosomes somehow makes my life less important
than someone with an X and Y.
I am taught how to use makeup,
and told it is to attract men.
I am showed how to shave my legs,
and told that having underarm stubble makes me less of a women.
I am told that supporting feminism,
means I hate men when all I want is to be equal to them.

her iron words rusted in the rain
so we had to sit in the hot afternoon
restoring the image she had painted with a sweet turn of phrase
dazzled by the sunlight i did not see
so she played it back for me
so slow and sweet if you listen real close
to the sound of her viper pen scratch the dry page
hear it dragged over like an old man scraping his dead skin
how lovely the dance between dark and light
wrong and right

and she says....
now i stretch my limbs
step so boldly like a cheshire and do it slow so it looks
like i got graceful art to my ways
wrap myself up in laces and wine
keep my smile dark and my lovin eyes on you
while i step over the cracks in the sanity of it
sip the cool liquids with a careful symmetry
sway to the lovely song
and wait for you to show me the way

because as a girl she doesn't want appear to be too bold
lest she find her bed cold
so dance slow with her slow my friend
because she will love a gentle breeze
more than a wicked wind
show your strengths in your hesitations
show your moonlight harbinger before you
show her your dark dreams
she needs to know you are evolved
beyond schoolboy charms

so dance real slow
and romance yourself with her beauty
if you stay she will liberate the lace
let you into the palace
let you into her long hot summer day
scrape you with viper pen
