every man looks bigger than they are in the shadows
it takes courage to step in the light
and really be seen
Do you agree?

What a fatal flaw,
this frail frame
that holds my name,
faulty flesh
that bares my flame,

how easily I can be
deceived by what
I think I see
or how I want
reality to be.

How through
the lens of sense
that I use
I can unintentionally
obstruct the truth.

Tragic that
all the facts
that make up everything
are beyond the comprehension
of this insignificant human being.

Captain
Is such an abrasive term
Call me zebra instead
Call me every other weekend
Salute the system
Or form a mutiny
As disciples of Moby ****
Just be sure rank and file
Are futile

Everything now is beautiful

Rainbirds
Caged in your barbed-wire heart
Jaded feather friends
In migration
Tasting shapes
And drawing blood
From artistic wings
As freedom of flyway must
Still belong to the rule

Everything now is beautiful

Hopscotch
On sorted sidewalks
Ride the escalator instead
Up one floor
To the mezzanine
That panders to
The perversions of quiet girls
Innocence outshines
Experience
When the hemisphere is
Short on lifeboats
And late for school

Everything now is beautiful

The missing world
Beneath our feet
Is what the ocean
Tells us about ourselves
"From swerve of shore
To bend of bay"
Check the notes
In the margin
Postcards and maps
Depicting these dazzle ships
And the angry waters
They chart
Are always of
Skinny-dipping
Sea vessels
Her mons and ponds
Face-up
And full frontal

Everything now is beautiful

Dove taking
Swan keeping
We've power against dreams
We've articles of war
So this line is expendable
An anguish languish
Deep deep down
Turning with the wave
Against the sound
Where we sailed on from one love
To find another
As usual

Omnes una manet nox
(One night is awaiting us all)

Pictures of you and me
Smiling falsely into silicon and sand
Two empty containers can be
Hopelessly contented and blaringly bland

The big eye caught us straight
And lied to those who see
Time for us may labor and wait
But autumn may never be

The link between us is growing
The fissure enlarges too
Words and feelings glowing
Concern for me and you

Future may cease my heart-sweat
Graves may close my pains
For now it’s truly a sure-bet
Drama in lovers’ lanes

we often think that
our enemies are those who hate us
loath us
deceive us
cause us pain

but the real antagonists of our lives
are really just ourselves

even as for those
who foolishly say they love themselves
they just can't accept
the hatred deep within

we have unrevealed battles
with ourselves
other people aren't of much importance
embracing ourselves matters more

we're so enthralled with
the affairs of others
that we start defining ourselves
the way we perceive them

we try to free ourselves
from the ideas that we need to be
like them
and yet
our minds become our own prisons

we're our own enemies
we're our own foes
we're our own rivals
and we're also our only hope

the key to our minds are our hearts
and maybe one day
we wouldn't see ourselves
on the opposing side

Don’t look
Just hide
All the lies
Overt your eyes
            from the truth

Don’t lift
The plush
Keep hush
We’re in no rush
to see the reason for your rage

Don’t speak
The truth
Or play sleuth
What’s the use
of cleaning up all that mess?

Don’t confront
We’ll fight
For the right
To lose sight
of our past injustices to you

Just sweep
Get a broom
There’s more room
For the gloom
It’ll fit under this beautiful rug

If you don’t
Or you shout
Strikeout or pout
We will cast you out
     of this web of ours

Go on
Be sincere
Face our fear
You don’t belong here
    and never will again.
People don't like to see the truth, even when it's under their nose. Sometimes, we have to practice to be honest from a place of no-ego, which is pretty difficult. We'll see where it gets me.

Ink
blots
impossible
knots
testing the limits of
a circular drive
one hand on the wheel
the other copping a feel
of his passenger mate
dutifully nursing her neonate
foot goes down
to apply the break
fracturing fingers
is what it will take
to lessen
the voice
avoid
the slade
move
the mountain
tell me, don't floaters
eventually get flushed?
Beware...there are deceivers among us, hopping from one profile to the next. These types are not so interested in poetry as they are with messing with the ladies here. Please be careful.

Note: not all those with multiple profiles are deceivers. In fact, most are not. But there are a few here with ulterior motives.

In a world where traits such as bigotry, greed, narcissism, non-empathy and some level of superiority (in ones own mind) are the key attributes to ensure success and some sense of purpose and fulfilment... I am less distressed than I should be to have failed at life.
I have come to appreciate simplicity and things that are genuine and wonder what reality looks like to the successful. Do they value a warm embrace and a soft kiss and the company of someone who likes them for who they are in the same way I do? And when (if) they feel and experience these things in a genuine way does their success still feel good when they reflect on what made them? Do they even reflect upon such things... or would they be less successful in their own minds if they saw themselves for who they are?
Can you be happy if your aspirations are something other than to love and be loved in return? Without these all is deception and you are both the deceived and the deceiver.
No matter how successful you are or believe yourself to be.... if you do not love and are not loved.... you have failed. Ask anyone who has a heart full of love to give but has no one with whom to share it. Nothing else can compensate or equal loves rewards.

I told these stars about how we met

I approached you and crashed on you

And they shimmered even brighter

Then I told them about your beauty

Not about the membrane, but your soul

They beamed and huddled up the clouds

Thus, I started portraying our journey

From being strangers to soulmates

This time the winds started to waft smoothly

And I felt that romance anew

Which I was used to with you

Perhaps the winds found your remains in me

As the journey started again they too joined us

And felt the same what I had felt once

And the horizon changed its color to celebrate our love

Finally, I told them how I left you alone midway through life

In agony and tears to live my desolation daily, to which,

The stars dimmed, the winds slowed and clouds began to rain

After a time they made the sky clear

With many stars twinkling

Some very bright and a few dim

But the dimmest one was me

I love you.

No. Shut up.
You don’t get to love me.
You don’t get to drown me in the sea of your fabricated passion,
Nor do you get to drag me through the gravel of your emotional inventions.
I see through your facade;
Your desperation to keep me close,
The fear of losing me rendering you incapable of rationality.
You convince yourself of these feelings
Yet in the process of fooling me,
You deceive yourself.
You ensnare me in the waves of your fiction,
But clasp your soul onto the crown of an anchor.

Keep lying to yourself.
Soon enough you’ll find yourself at the bottom of the ocean.
